com MIDIJam is a program that plays back MIDI files in a visual form. It shows the exact notes played on 3D instruments in real time. To start, run Config.exe to set up your video options. Then just drop a MIDI file on the MidiJam.exe. I recommend "soca.mid", "rocky_1 .mid", "Saturday_In_The_Park.mid", "triplets_xylo.mid", or "SMWOPENP.mid" as good openning songs to show you what this app can do! I have set it up on my computer from the right click menu, so I can right click any file and tell it to play with MIDIJam, this way I don't have to have all the MIDI fil es in the same directory as the EXE. Associating MIDIs with this EXE also works we ll. TO SETUP RIGHT CLICK FUNCTIONALITY: Open Winows Explorer Goto the Tools menu Select Folder Options Click the File Types tab Select the MID file extension Click Advanced Click the New button on the Edit File Type window Type "MidiJam" into the Action text box Click the browse button and find where you installed MIDIJam.exe Click OK on all the windows and you should be set to right click on any MIDI fil e on your computer and select MidiJam to launch it!

The application currently displays and "plays" up to 92 different instruments that may be called on in a Midi file. I plan to continue adding to the applicat ion until all 174 instruments are displayed. Keyboard commands to note Arrow keys (right and left) - speed up and slow down the music, to get to certai n parts of songs 1-6 numbers on the keyboard - switch cameras, 5 is overhead, the others are spec ific views if you keep pressing the number, it will cycle cam eras of that type 0 number on the keyboard - this will go back to the panning camera (default)

Other tools included:

MidiList.exe - an EXE you can drop any MIDI file on, to see what instruments are used in it. It also has some search capabilities that were later incorporated into MidiSearch, see below. MidiSearch.exe - an EXE you can run to search the current directory and all subd irectories for MIDI files. After it comes up just click the "Search for Songs" button and it will look through all found MIDI files for their instruments. The n you can click on the instruments to the left to limit the list on the right ba sed on your select instrument(s). If you click the Launch button, and this EXE is in the same place as MIDIJam, it will automatically launch the selected song in MIDIJam. Down at the bottom is a "Browse for EXE" button, you can use this t o select any MIDI player you want the app to send MIDI files to with the Launch button.
