How To Make The Chain Loop Stitch Used In Loop Flower Rug

Begin on a base of stitches,

chain to begin the loop,

slip stitch next stitch to close the loop

This is how a completed row will look.

The next row you will work with be solid stitches. Here the loops have been pressed to the back of your work.

A solid row of stitches have been made to set or lock the loops to what will become the front or right side of the piece.

How the piece looks after this has been completed.

Adding another row of chain loop stitches.

Here are two finished samples of the chain loop stitch. You can vary the number of chains you use in the stitch to achieve different lengths in your loops.
