Placement of steam generator The steam generator must be placed in close proximity of the steam room. The loss of heat in steam is directly proportional to the distance of generator from the steam room. Hence if the genrator is too far, then the large amounts of steam may end up condensing before reaching the steam room. The steam generator must be placed in a dry well-ventilated are. It must be protected from splashing water and rain. It is highly advisable to protect the generator from high temperatures and humidity as both interfere with the on-board electronic circuits. Use 8mm drill pilot and fix the distance between the mounting holes on the back of the generator. For larger genrators, L-angles have to be installed additionally. Keep proper room for inlet, outlet, drain, wiring and sufficient area for allowing easy service of equipment. Installation of Water Connections (Typical)
1.

Install input pipe a) Input pipe of CPVC/GI material of dia 0.5 inch capped by an angle cock must be installed with the end-point within 2 feet of the steam generator. Connect the braided connection pipe between the Input of the steam generator and the input cold water pipe. b) Ensure tight fit and zero-drip. Do not use exessive force, it could damage the connection pipe.

2.

Install Steam Output a) SS 304 pipes of dia 0.5 inch are highly recommended for steam outlet. Pipes can also be wrapped with cotton rope inside the steam room for further heat insulation. b) Piping is to be done as per Fig-1. c) End point of outlet pipe must not be more than 2 feet from the steam generator. Connect the braided connection pipe between the Input of the steam generator and the input cold water pipe. d) Ensure tight fit and zero-drip. Do not use exessive force, it could damage the connection pipe. e) In larger steam generators (12 kW and above) there are two steam outlets from the generator. i. ii. Two separate steam outlet pipes to the steam room are to be installed wherever possible. Outlet end points are to be provided accordingly. In case two separate pipes are not needed, one single pipe can also be provided and capped with a T-junction. The outlets from the generator can be attached to the T-junction.

3.

Drain pipe is also also recommended to be in SS 304 of dia 0.5 inch. Similiar connection as the Steam outlet pipe is to be followed.

Installation of Electrical and Control Connections (Typical) Note: It is highly recommended to install MCB and ELCB for complete safety and protection of you and your family. Electrical requirement of the steam generators is given in Table 1 below. Power supply must be standardised to the following specifications. Use of FRLS wires is recommended for power supply.

Table 1 : Current requirements of Generators The socket must be placed within 2 feet of the steam generator. Quality wires without any joints and cuts are very highly recommended for safe operation of the generator. Please ensure a complete protection of the electrical sockets etc from water, humidity and high temperatures. A separate PVC Pipe needs to be layed from the steam generator to the feather touch Control Panel. Appropriate twisted pair cable is to be stuffed into this pipe. One end of the conection cable is to be connected to the control port on the steam generator and the other end to the connector behind the feather touch board. Please ensure careful but firm connection at both ends as loose connection can cause faulty performance. Installing the Control Panel The control panel is the heart of the steam generator. It is enclosed in a sturdy water-proof collar. The feather touch can be installed anywhere upto 5 metres away from the steam generator, both inside and outside the steam room. Choose a location where the panel is visible and easily accessible to the user. Make Cut-out of dimension as shown in Fig-2. Connect the other end of the Control Cable to the Control Board port. Place the control panel and seal the sides using cement or other masonary material. Ensure complete airproof sealing at all the edges.

Guidelines for proper functioning of Steam Generator

1. 2. 3. 4.

Dont direct the steam jet at a wall, seating or any other object. It should be always facing the ground. Fix the thermostat sensor as far away from the steam jet as possible. The drainage pipe must slope all the way down to the waste outlet (Please Note: Water in the drain pipe is very hot). De-scale the steam generators at regular intervals as instructed. In hard water areas, where calcium level is high, we recommend installing the water softener or filtering

5.

Clean the steam room regularly.

Operating the steam generator

1. Ensure water and power are ON before operational test. 2. Power Settings: (a) Switch ON the main power supply. (b) After Red LED glows on the control panel then you press the [Power ON] switch, the red LED will

turn green indicating power supply has been established.

(c) In units with control board CB-2, the control panel display shows the room temperature and Time

left. If water inlet valve is not turned on, then it shows NO water alarm. This alarm will disappear when the steam is turned ON.
3. Temperature Settings: (a) Press [SET] switch once. (b) Display shows [TEMP] from (0 to 150). (c) Press [ for increasing] or [ for decreasing] the temperature. (d) Set the MAX temperature. Setting a maximum temperature of around 45 is advised. (e) After set the Max temp press [SET] switch again to store set Max temp in memory. (f)

Steam will stop automatically once the room temperature reaches 45.

4. Timer settings: (a) Press [SET] switch twice. (b) Display shows [TIME] from (0 to 99 minutes). (c) Press [ for increasing] or [ for decreasing] the time. (d) Set the time as per your requirement. Usually a session of 15-30 mins is sufficient. (e) After set the time press [SET] switch again to store set time in memory. (f)

Steam will stop automatically once it reaches the set time.

5. Press [STEAM ON/OFF] switch to turn steam ON and same to turn steam OFF.

Troubleshooting
