Dear Friend, Even kids in Sunday School know that Jonah was swallowed up by a big fish.

But not many adults know why that happened, and the incredible underlying story of Jonah. Fewer yet know the connection to Jesus of Nazareth. Now the word of the LORD came unto Jonah saying, Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me. But Jonah got up and fled in the opposite direction to get away from God (Jonah 1:1). Does this really make sense? Jonah, the prophet, knew God well enough to recognize when God spoke to him. Why didnt he go to Ninevah and do as he was told? What motivewhat dynamicwas strong enough to send a prophet running in the wrong direction? Jonah will tell us in the end the story but it may not be what you think. God could have sent another prophet, but he had a point to make. He told Jonah to go, and Jonah was going to go. He sent a terrible storm around the ship. It even had hardened sailors resorting to prayer. They had done everything they could to save the ship and it wasnt enough. They could see they werent going to make it. When things had gotten about as bad as they could get, the captain went below and found Jonah, sound asleep and had to shake him to get him to wake up. He asked, Whats the matter with you, O sleeper? arise, call upon thy God, if so be that God will think upon us, that we perish not. They concluded this was not an ordinary storm and it was caused by an evil. So they cast lots to see who caused the evil. And it fell upon Jonah. So they began to quiz Jonah and found out he was a prophet who had fled from the presence of the LORD. You know the story how a huge fish swallowed Jonah and he was in its belly for three days and three nights. But there is much more to the story than that. There are fascinating parallels between the story of Jonah and the ministry of Jesus. The storm, the sleeping Savior, the sacrifice of one that many might be saved. And there is another parallel to come. Youll find this especially interesting. And you will want to immediately order this CD titled, The Grace to Win, with an astonishing story that will open truths of the Bible you may not have considered. You find things you need badly to emulate. Its FREE, so order it today. Ron Dart and Feast of Tabernacles Updates Ron continues to progress and improve. He had a surge of improvements after his pacemaker procedure in December. At last he is getting sufficient blood and oxygen to the brain. Were looking into giving him voice lessons and/or music therapy that will help build pathways in the brain for speaking. Its been interesting to observe that he can sing many hymns and songs written between the 40s and 60s without missing a word. A person uses a different portion of the brain when singing than they use to speak. Hes beginning to read and write just a littlevery little. Please keep your prayers for him going up. Search Me O God! - What should the attitude of Christian be toward sin? If God wants us never to forget
our vulnerability to sin, then from whence comes a positive attitude of self worth? Do we generate it ourselves and call it self esteem? Or does God call upon us to remember how precious we are to him, as the sacrifice of his own Son shows us?
