Accumulation of Toxic Substances in a Food Chain
Objective: Understand how toxic substances accumulate in a food chain and how they affect organisms at different
levels.
1- Setup 2 - Distribute Toxic Substances
Label the cups as follows: Each primary consumer receives 2 candies (toxic particles)
6 cups for primary consumers from the environment.
4 cups for secondary consumers For every 2 primary consumers, one secondary consumer
2 cups for tertiary consumers eats them. So, each secondary consumer cup will get the
1 cup for the top predator toxic particles from 2 primary consumers.
Each tertiary consumer eats 2 secondary consumers.

3- DATA COLLECTION [20] 4- GRAPHING. Plot a graph to show the number of toxic substances
Record the number of candies accumulated at each level.
