welcome
The Hoste Arms is a 17th Century coaching inn located in one of Norfolks prettiest villages, Burnham Market, a few miles from the beautiful North Norfolk coast. My late husband, Paul Whittome purchased The Hoste in 1989 and over the years we have created a stylish and welcoming place to visit or stay, serving delicious seasonal, locally-sourced food and offering an extensive wine list in relaxed surroundings. The Hoste Arms now boasts 58 bedrooms spread across six properties, a cosy bar, lounge, conservatory, garden, three main restaurants, function facilities and a new beauty spa. With fellow Directors, Emma Tagg, Andrew McPherson and Janie Thompson and a dedicated team of loyal staff, I will continue Pauls legacy to create the ultimate convivial inn. I look forward to welcoming you to what is undoubtedly a special place. Jeanne Whittome

a hoste of places to relax, eat, drink and stay.

the hoste arms

A hotel since 1651, The Hoste Arms has also been a court house; a livestock market and a brothel! The Hoste now boasts 34 individually-styled rooms and suites, all with beautiful bathrooms, plasma TVs, pure Egyptian cotton sheets and luxury toiletries from Arran Aromatics. The Zulu wing which reects Jeannes South African heritage, offers six beautifully-styled rooms plus a penthouse suite and now houses a new Beauty and Wellness Spa. Guests can enjoy breakfast, morning coffee, tea and cakes, lunch, afternoon tea or dinner in one of our many public areas and restaurants, or in the garden and outside dining terrace located at the rear of the hotel. The Hoste Arms is very much at the heart of the village and we welcome locals, visitors and holiday-makers, whether staying just a few hours... or a few days.

This Georgian property, furnished with stylish antiques, gilt mirrors and sumptuous fabrics offers a more secluded and quieter retreat. Each of the seven bedrooms and beautiful bathrooms has been individually-designed and offers spacious accommodation with luxury bed linens and bathroom toiletries. Enjoy a continental breakfast hamper in the comfort of your room, or full English breakfast at The Hoste Arms. With private parking, a walled garden, drawing room, lounge and a butler on hand to serve pre-dinner drinks, when required, this is the ultimate in luxury accommodation.

railway inn
The Railway Inn is located on the outskirts of Burnham Market and ceased functioning as a railway station in 1957. The old station house has now been converted into seven stylish bedrooms with en-suite shower rooms with a luxurious central sitting room where guests can relax and walk out onto what was once the railway platform. Sitting on the old railway tracks, the original railway carriage has been cleverly converted into a romantic, cosy retreat for two with a stunning copper basin, walk-in shower and luxurious fabrics. Guests enjoy breakfast at The Hoste Arms, just an eight minute stroll away. Tea and coffee-making facilities are provided in each room. Railway artefacts and memorabilia make this a special place to stay.

holiday cottages
The self-catering Holiday Cottages are located next to the Railway Inn, an eight minute stroll from The Hoste Arms and just a few minutes from the village centre. All three cottages are modern and contemporary with sumptuous interiors, offering a well-equipped kitchen, dining room, lounge with plasma TV and DVD, cloakroom and three en-suite bedrooms. The cottages are perfect for a private family get-away. Each cottage has a fully-enclosed secluded garden and patio area for children or dogs to play, or for you to just relax with a glass of wine. Offered on a self-catering basis, stay for one night a week or two!
