THE 58th TEFLIN INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE

3rd 5th NOVEMBER 2011

The 58 TEFLIN International Conference organized by IKIP PGRI Semarang focuses on the theme of Language Teaching and Character Building. Character building has become a heated issue in Indonesia lately due to the fact that it is closely related to the quality of education. Education can be considered successful when it can change the students behavior and attitude towards life. The students trend in doing anarchism, corruption, lying, cheating, and irresponsibility is an indication of the failure of education. It is therefore, high time to rethink of its importance to design character building in language teaching. th The 58 TEFLIN international conference will explore approaches, issues, and questions related to the character building in language teaching. From this discussion, the seminar hopes to draw out implications for language teaching, learning, testing and translation.
