A Comparison between Those Obsessed with Takfr &
Bombings and Those Who Call for Peace & Well-
Being
1

Today, many non-Muslims have entered the Arabian Peninsula for a specific set time
(jobs, etc.). And many people from this country have also begun telling them about Islam,
spreading offices throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia called Tawiyyah al-Jliyt or
Community Enlightenment offices. This has been going on for a long time now, and
because of it, many people have accepted Islam. According to a comprehensive report
by the Community Enlightenment office in Buraidah, Qaseem (a city near Riyadh) for
example, as many as fifteen thousand people entered Islam between 1407 (C.E. 1986)
and the beginning of 1424 (C.E. 2003). And the completion of such peoples guidance,
after Allh guided them to Islam, is that they meet sincere and righteous callers to peace
and well-being, those who teach them the understanding of the religion according to the
righteous predecessors, those far removed from evil innovations and issues foreign to
Islam.

However, beginning in the year 1424 (C.E. 2003), some young people in this country
(Saudi Arabia) were afflicted with the trials of renouncing obedience to the leaders and
government and the audacity to kill non-Muslims whove entered our country and were
promised safety and security. They claim they are ridding the Arabian Peninsula of the
disbelievers. By doing that, theyve brought evil upon themselves, their religion and its
people, and their nation. In the al-Qabas al-Muwaytiyyah newspaper (no. 11137) dated

the 23
rd
of Rab al-khir, 1425 (C.E. 2004), an article by Dr. amad Ibn Ibrhm al-
Uthmn was published by the title: The Ideology of Bombing in the Spotlight. Within this
article were many statements from such misguided youth (the terrorists) that have been
published on a well-known internet site. The fifth reported statement says:

Everyone must know that if they want to make us leave our ideology, the very
ideology for which we were created, with which we were commanded, because
of which weve spilled our own blood if they want us to leave this, then let them
dig up Muhammad ( ,.., ,.. &| _.. ) from his grave and let him say to us, Do not
expel the disbelievers from the Arabian Peninsula! Dig him up to tell us, Do not
make Jihd against the disbelievers from the Arabian Peninsula! Dig him up to
tell us, You are all sinners, extremists, terrorists! You should instead renounce
this and repent from it. Only then will we listen and obey, and only to him ( &| _..
,.., ,.. )!

Anyone who reflects on these statements full of utmost wickedness, the extreme, harsh-
heartedness of these people becomes apparent as does their blunt, discourteous
manners, and their petrified, intolerant ideology. I do not even think many of the
misguided youth bent on destruction within this country would approve of such speech
that calls to nothing but an evil end. These people should repent and return to guidance
and pay no attention to the likes of such vile statements that only show the filth, evil,
meanness and shamelessness of whoever said it.

The following is a summarized comparison between the actions of these misguided youth
and the actions of sincere callers to peace and righteousness:

1. The misguided youth accept and approve of disbelief from a nonbeliever and
therefore rush him to the Fire (by killing him). They bring him out of darkness into
darkness, from torture to torture. As for the sincere callers to well-being, they work to
bring a nonbeliever out of darkness and into light, so that he may triumph, thereby
gaining happiness and contentment in this life and the next.

3
2. The misguided youth, by killing a nonbeliever (residing in this land) send him back to
his family in a coffin so that they may be filled with hatred and resentment towards
Islam and Muslims, so they may attribute to Islam what it is actually free and innocent
of all because of these misguided people. As for the sincere callers to
righteousness, by inviting others to Islam, a person may return to his family as a
Muslim. He becomes a member of Islam, inviting his own family and others to it.

3. The misguided youth subject themselves to the punishment reported in the statement
of the Prophet ( ,.., ,.. &| _.. ):

_ . _ . | . .. - . , i _ , - .| . , i| , , . , ; . , . _ . . . . _ - , | . .. .
Whoever kills a Muhid (a non-Muslim promised safety) will not even smell the
fragrance of paradise even though its scent can be smelled from forty years
away.
2

As for the sincere callers, by their invitation (to Islam), they hope for rewards
promised in the statement of the Prophet ( .. ,.., ,.. &| _ ):

, , }| _ . i ,. : _ . . _ i . . . _ . . - , . _ . , | _ . . . . , : , . , | _ . i . _ . .
Whoever calls to guidance, there is for him a reward for anyone who follows
him without diminishing their own rewards at all.
3

4. The misguided ones, their family and relatives live in grief, distress, worry, and
sadness; they regret the condition of their wicked children. The sincere callers, their
family and relatives live in happiness, delight, and approval with the condition of their
noble children.

5. The misguided ones, by their disgraceful actions, prevent people from entering Islam,
damaging the reputation of the pure monotheistic religion. The sincere callers, by

4
their noble actions and their enthusiasm for Islam, work to bring nonbelievers out of
darkness and into light.

6. The misguided people were not even able to perform Jihd against their own (evil)
inclinations. And they ruined themselves and others in that theyve fallen into a form
of corruption they call Jihd. As for the sincere callers, they perform Jihd against
their own inclinations and perform a form of Jihd (struggle) with others by inviting
them to Islam.

7. The misguided ones, by their horrible actions, become keys opening the doors to evil,
locking the doors to all good. The sincere callers, by their noble actions, become
keys opening the doors to all good, locking the doors to evil. In Sunan Ibn Mjah,
Anas ( .. &| _. ) said that Allhs messenger ( ,.., ,.. &| _.. ) said:

, - . i , i. - . ` , :. i _, .. . . _. .i| _ . , , ` , :. i , i. - . , , - . i _, .. . . _. .i| _ . , ,
_ . . ` , :i| _, .. . . .i| _ - , _ . i _ , , . _ . . , , - i| _, .. . . .i| _ - , _ . i _ , L
.
Certainly, among people are those who are keys to (the doors of) good, locking
(the doors of) evil. And certainly, among people are those who are keys to (the
doors of) evil, locking (the doors of) good. So, b (a rewarding tree in
paradise) is for whomever Allh places the keys to good upon his hands, and
woe (beware or a pit in Hell) to those Allh places the keys to evil upon his
hands.
4

8. The misguided youth are a threatened people by Allhs statement:

, .i| . _ . . . . _ _ . . . . i|
Certainly, Allh does not amend the work of corruptors.
[Srah Ynus, 10:81]

4
Recorded by Ibn Mjah (no. 237). Also see al-Silsilah al-aah (no. 1332) of al-Albn.

5
And the sincere callers are a promised people by Allhs statement:

. . . _, . . , , | _ - . . . i|
Certainly, We will not allow to be lost the reward of the good-doers.
[Srah Al-Arf, 7:170]

9. The misguided ones can expect a portion of whats come in the prophets ( ,.. &| _..
,.., ) statement:

. , , , , . _ . . | _ . . _ , - _ . , . , . . , ,. , . . , . . . _ . _ :. - . . , . , . _ . i _ .
. . , . i , _` . . _ , . . . , .
Whoever rebels against my nation, killing both the righteous and wicked
(indiscriminately), not even sparing the devout believers, and not fulfilling the
obligation towards those given a pledge (of security) then he is not from me
and I am not from him.
5

And the sincere callers can expect a portion of whats come in the prophets ( &| _..
,.., ,.. ) statement:

. . _ . . - . _ , , . . _ - - | . , | _ , . . . , . - i| _ }| .. , - .. . . , . i _ . , .
, , .| , _ . 1, - . , , . . . , , .. . , i| ,, , i ,
There are three traits a Muslims heart never resents: sincerity in doing actions
for Allh, offering sincere advise to those in authority, and sticking to the
mainstream community (of Muslims) because certainly their supplication
encompasses all around them.

The young people who have been tested and tried with committing Takfr
2
and bombings
have contradicted Islam in many different ways. And even one of them is sufficient as a
sin for someone to commit, so what about committing all of them? This is a short
collection of some of these things they do that Islam opposes along with the evidences
showing the severity and danger of them.

1. Making Takfr of Other Muslims

The prophet ( ,.., ,.. &| _.. ) said:

1
This translation consists of some points explained by Abd al-Musin al-Abbd in his work titled:
A Reminder to Those Obsessed with Takfr and Bombings.
2
Takfr: Excommunicating, or the indiscriminate considering and labeling of Muslims as
disbelievers. [Translators Note]

| , . .| , _ _ . } - , . . : . , ! . . , .. , , . | - . . . .. , : ,. : . . . . , . , - ,
. . ,
Anyone who says to his brother, You disbeliever! then it falls back upon one of
them: either he (the accused) is really as he (the accuser) says or it returns back
to him (the accuser).
3

And from the adth of Ab Dharr ( .. &| _. ), he ( ,.., ,.. &| _.. ) also said:

. _ . . . , , i. : . , . | , . . . . , &| ! , i , _ : . i . . - . . . ,
Whoever accuses a man of disbelief or says, You enemy of Allh! and he is not
actually like that, it returns back to the accuser.
4

If this is the threat for making Takfr of a single person, then what about making Takfr of
an entire nation?!

2. Killing Muslims without Right

Allh ( ,. _,, ) says:

. . , ,. : _ _ . . i , | _ . . . . . . . . . L -
And it is not for any believer to kill another believer except by accident.
[Srah al-Nis, 4:92]

And he says:

. . | , i . ,| . . . ., L .

Recorded by al-Bukhr (no. 2104) and Muslim (no. 216) and the wording is from Muslim.
4
Recorded by Muslim (no. 217).
3

And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell to remain
therein. Allh is angry with him, condemns him, and has prepared for him a
great punishment.
[Srah al-Nis, 4:93]

And he (Allh) says:

_ . _ , | i . . . , . : _ . . . , _ _, .| , . . | _ . _ . . . . . , , - , _ _ . . , | .. .
_ _ }| . . . . : _ . _. .i| . -, . , _ . , . .. , - | . . . . : . , - | _. .i| . -, . ,
And for that, We decreed for the children of Israel that whoever killed
someone not because of murder or spreading corruption on earth, then it is
as if he killed all of mankind. And if someone saves a person, it is as if he
saved all of mankind.
[Srah al-Midah, 5:32]

And the prophet ( ,.., ,.. &| _.. ) said:

| , . . . . _ , , _ .i| _. , .i| , .. _ ` .i| . ..
The first matter to be judged among mankind on the Day of Resurrection will be
that of shedding blood (murder).
5

He ( ,.., ,.. &| _.. ) also said:

i _ , | !| . _ _ . - . _ . . . . i , . , . .. - , . .|
A believer will continue to be comfortable with his religion as long as he does not
shed sacred blood.

Jundub Ibn Abd Allh ( .. &| _. ), a companion of prophet Muhammad, said:

The first thing to spoil from a person is his stomach, so whoever is able to eat
nothing but good, pure food, then let him. And whoever is able to let nothing
prevent him from (entering) paradise by not allowing his hand to fill with blood
that he has spilled, then let him.
7

al-Hfi Ibn ajar said in his book, Fat al-Br (13/130) after this adth was mentioned
in a Marf
8
form from al-abar:

Even if it was not reported explicitly in a Marf form, it is still considered to be
raised to the level of the prophets statement because it is not something that
could have been known and said (by a companion) based solely on ones
opinion. It is a severe threat for killing a Muslim without right.

3. Committing Suicide

Allh ( . , _.-., ..- ) says:

. . , | _ . i| | . . . | . : . . , : i| . | , , : . , _ .. , i. , . , | , : . . . , . _ .
_ _| , . , :.` . . , | . . . . , : . .. | , .i| ,. : , : , . ., - , _ . , _ - . i .
. .| , . . . . . . , . . , . . . | . . ,. : , i . _ . . .i| | .
Oh you who believe, do not unjustly consume one anothers property
unless it be a trade between you by mutual consent. And do not kill
yourselves, for certainly Allh is merciful to you. Whoever does that

Marf: A classification of adth that represents a statement from a companion of the prophet (
,.., ,.. &| _.. ) but that is raised to the status of being an actual statement of the prophet himself,
usually because it contains something that only the prophet ( ,.., ,.. &| _.. ) could have known
about and said. [T.N.]
5

through aggression and injustice, We shall put him in the fire, and that is
easy for Allaah.
[Srah al-Nis, 4:29-30]

And the prophet ( ,.., ,.. &| _.. ) said:

. _ . _ . . . , : _ . _ .i| . , . . . , , , .i| , ..
Whoever killed himself with anything in this life, he will be punished with it on the
Day of Resurrection.
9

4. Killing Non-Muslims Who were Promised Safety

Prophet Muhammad ( ,.., ,.. &| _.. ) said:

. _ . _ . . . . . - .. | . i , , _ .| - -| . . , , - , . . , . . _ . . , , . | , - , _
. .. .
Whoever murders a Muhid
10
will not even smell paradise, and its fragrance
can be smelled from forty years away.
11

And even regarding if they happen to be killed in an accident (while living among
Muslims), Allh ( ,. _,, ) says:

, , ,. : _ . _ , , : . , , , , . , , , _. .,` . . . . . . _ i . . | , , - . , ,
. . . _ . , i . , ,. , . _ , , : _ , - ,. . . .

mutual alliance, then compensation (blood-money) must be paid to his

Muhid: A Non-Muslim with whom the Muslims have guaranteed safety and security through a
peace treaty, trust, or even indicated by the issuance of an entry visa to a Muslim country. [T.N]

family, and a believing slave must be freed. Whoever cannot find the means
(to do these things), then fasting two consecutive months (is prescribed).
[Srah al-Nis, 4:92]

5. Causing Those Once Safe & Secure to Live in Fear

The prophet ( ,.., ,.. &| _.. ) said:

. _ - . _ . . , . . ` .i| _ . , _ . . .
Anyone who takes up arms against us is not one of us.
12

Abd al-Ramn Ibn Ab Layl said:

The companions of Muhammad ( ,.., ,.. &| _.. ) narrated to us they used to
travel with the prophet ( ,.., ,.. &| _.. ). A man among them fell asleep, so some
of them took a rope he had and grabbed him (as a joke, possible to tie him up)
thereby scaring him. So, the prophet ( ,.., ,.. &| _.. ) said:

. - _ i . . . _ , | , , ` , _ . . . . .
A Muslim is not allowed to scare another Muslim.
13

6. Destroying the Property of Others

Allh ( ,. _,, ) says:

| . , _ i . _ - . _ _ }| . . . , i . , , . , , . , - i| _ . .i| , .i| , .
, - .. . .i|

12
Recorded by al-Bukhr (no. 6874) and Muslim (no. 121).
13
Recorded by Imam Amad (vol. 5, no. 362) and Abu Dwd (no. 5004) with an authentic chain of
narration.
7

And when he turns away, he goes throughout the earth spreading
corruption, destroying crops and cattle. And Allaah does not like
corruption.
[Srah al-Baqarah, 2:205]

And the prophet ( ,.., ,.. &| _.. ) said:

. _ | - . | . | .i| _. , . | . .| . . | . _ &| . . . , . _ | - . , . . , . | . . . &|
Whoever receives peoples wealth or property (as a loan or trust) and he tries to
fulfill the duties and responsibilities regarding it, Allh will help him fulfill them.
And whoever is receives it but tries to ruin it (neglects his responsibilities), Allh
will ruin him.
14

So, if this is the case of someone who is entrusted with peoples property and wealth yet
does not care to fulfill his responsibilities regarding it, then what about those who destroy
the property of others with bombings and other means of destruction?!

7. Armed Hijacking of Vehicles to Escape in Them

The prophet ( ,.., ,.. &| _.. ) said:

. - _ .. , _ _ | , . - . . . | - , , - , , - .
Its not permissible for anyone to take the property of his brother without right.
15

And in his sermon on the Day of al-Nar in Min during the Farewell Pilgrimage, Ab
Bakr ( .. &| _. ) reported that the prophet ( &| _.. ,.., ,.. ) said:

, . . .. : , , | . i| : , , | . , .| : , . . , : , - , ,| : - , . . : , . . | _ : , , : ,
. . | _ , . . : , . . | i _ , . . . , , : ,

14
Recorded by al-Bukhr (no. 2387).
15
Recorded by Amad (no. 23605) with a good chain of narration.
8

Certainly, the blood of all of you, your wealth, and your honor are to be held by
each of you as sacred just as the sanctity of this day of yours in this month of
yours in this land of yours until the day you all meet your Lord.
16

8. Disguising Themselves (some men among them) in Womens Clothing

Ibn Abbs ( &| _. .. ) said:

.. .` .i. , . ,` ,i| _ . _ ,` , : . . i| , . . , , . . .i| _ . . .i| . _ - i
. ,` ,i. , .. .` .i| _ . .. ,` , : . . i| ,
The prophet ( ,.., ,.. &| _.. ) condemned men that imitate women and women
that imitate men.
17

And the fact that some of these people contradict Islam in this way results from their
misunderstanding of religious texts and not referring to and consulting with scholars.
About this, Allhs messenger ( ,.., ,.. &| _.. ) said:

, _ . _` .i| _ , . . | , , - , .i| .
If Allh wants good for someone, He gives him correct understanding of the
religion.
18

And based on this, it is understood that if Allh does not intend good for someone, he
does not give him correct religious understanding.

Those people must fear Allh with regards to their Islam, themselves, their families, and
their nation. They should try to correctly understand the religion and refer back to the
people with knowledge to avoid making blind, chaotic mistakes that have caused them to
contradict Islam in so many ways. And they have to fear oppressing themselves and
others because the prophet ( ,.., ,.. &| _.. ) said:

16
Recorded by al-Bukhr (no. 27, 1741) and Muslim (no. 1279).
17
Recorded by al-Bukhr (no. 5885).
18
Recorded by al-Bukhr (no. 71) and Muslim (no. 1037).
9

| . . | Li| . , . , , Li| . , . . . .. , .i| , ..
Be conscientious and fearful of oppressing (anyone), for oppression will become
darkness on the Day of Resurrection.
19

They have also got to beware of becoming bankrupt, ruined people in the hereafter about
whom the prophet ( ,.., ,.. &| _.. ) said:

_ . . . i| , .. , . i| , _ . . _ . . | _ . . , | . . , . : . _ . . , .. : , _ ,. , . , .
.. . . - _ . | . . _ L - , | . . , , . , | . . , . . . , | . . . . _ : | , | . . . . ,
.. . . - , , . , , .. . . - _ . | . . , , .. . L - _ . . - | , . . . . _ . . , | _ ,
. .i| _ _ , . , . , . . , - , L
Certainly, the bankrupt, ruined person of my nation is he who will come on the
Day of Resurrection with prayer, fasting, and charity yet he cursed this person,
falsely accused that person, took the property of this person, spilled the blood of
that person, and struck that person. His good deeds will be given to this person
and that person, and if his good deeds finish before his judgment is through, then
the sins of those people will be put onto him. He will then be thrown into the
fire.
