A Call to Prayer

from Norm Roberts at Yuendumu

The Yuendumu mob are much the same, with the big court case set in Alice over Monday 13 - Wednesday 15 February. Please ask the Portland mob to pray for this one. We would hope beyond this court that the families would settle their differences' and return to some good community life. No doubt 2011 has been the worst year in Yuendumu in our 8 years up here.
Please also continue to pray for Norm and Karen as they strive to bring the calming voice of Jesus through these difficult times. Pray for Norms health, which he says is ... ok without exciting ...

Special Thanks
to our Guest Speaker today, Warren Holman, and thank you to all our guests for their willingness to bring us Gods message. Next weeks Speaker will be Cameron Young. Our new Interim Pastor, David Jones will commence on Sunday 19th February - see the separate notice for more details.

Our Monthly Prayer Afternoon

Next Sunday 4:30 - 6:00pm at the Hall
Everyone is welcome to join us next Sunday afternoon for our special monthly prayer time. Please bring a plate of finger-food to share in a friendly and informal Tea afterwards.

Wanted: CRE Teachers

CRE teachers are needed for schools in the Portland area. Volunteers do not need to be trained teachers as materials are well prepared, easy to follow and there are student workbooks too. The classroom teacher remains in the room to supervise. CRE is warmly received in our schools. For more information contact Joylene Uebergang, CRE Co-ordinator - 5523 2625.

Loaves & Fishes

Prayer Meetings at the Loaves and Fishes centre in Richmond Street will resume on the second Tuesday of each month from 2:00 - 3:00pm. Just come along when you can and leave when you must. All welcome.

Working Bee - Learmonth St: Date Change

A Working Bee was planned for the Learmonth Street church block on February 18th but this date clashes with Relay for Life and with the annual exhibition of farm machinery. Could people who can help with the working bee please contact Roger (5521 7275) or Jim (5523 2347)and let us know any dates that might be able to assist. We need a group with Whipper Snippers to cut down the weeds around the trees next to the fences.
