Woodfords Splendour in the Grass will be ruined by the fun police if the music festival is moved back to New South Wales. Thats the claim from Moreton Bay Regional Council mayor Allan Sutherland, who is launching an online petition today to keep the music festival in Woodford, about 85km northwest of Brisbane. had been negotiating to have the annual festival moved to land they owned in Byron Bay. But the local council has demanding restrictions on the size of events to be held each year. The long-running event was held at Byron Bays Belongil Fields until site maintenance forced organisers to relocate to Woodford in 2010. Levinson has played at both Splendour in the Grass sites and said Woodford was the artists choice. Belongil Fields is OK, but theres no site as good as Woodford, he said.
