Introduction
The main goal of this new frequency plan is to improve the performance, decrease the high interference and consequently approach the standard KPI for the south area, which includes DARAA city and DARAA Rural, SWEIDA City and SWEIDA Rural in addition to QUNITERA. The result was undoubted excellent & overestimated and the performance enhanced positively. This area considered as rural area and most of the sites are still high in addition to the external interference from the Jordanian Operator (MobileCom), which uses the same band we use. The table below shows you the frequencies are used by MobileCom with their BSICs & Signal strength.

Further more Daraa area is considered as a valley surrounded by two mountains (Sweida & Qunitera), so extra interference comes from these 2 areas. Therefore the frequency tuning had taken too much time and high efforts from the team to be in acceptable design. Note: pls refer to HAUWAI Optimization Expert team report about South Area Interference and PLMN Interference Report (Jordanian Operators) done by Radio Study. 1-New Design The South area was used normal frequency plan, meaning each TRX had dedicated frequency with Hopping Feature=False. We implemented the hopping feature for the first time in this area, so we activated the Synthesizer frequency hopping mode (SFH),

All SYRIATEL areas (Siemens and Ericsson) use FLP1/1 (with SFH & Mobile Allocation List (hopping list) from 20 to 34 (15 hopping channels)), while in the new design for the south area we implemented this new methodology: BCCH band from 3 to 22 Hopping List from 23 to 34 Binning into consideration that most of the south area sites are configures as 2 or 3 TRXs per cell in maximum so we increased the number of BCCH to facilitate choosing the qualified BCCH to overcome the high interference comes from Sweida and Qunitera mountains plus the Jordanian Operator. Moreover we tried to assign a group of BCCH & BSICs for certain Antenna Azimuth as much as we can, and use

Finally, we are still working on the bad behavior cells, the tuning is still on progress, and we are now on the phase of the reduction of Antenna height and the increment of Antenna Tilt to reduce the interference, so I hope we can do our best to approach the international KPI speedy, but this will not happen without the support of the management and her satisfaction & interest in this area. This region is still pure and needs more coverage sites to enhance the performance and to improve SYRIATEL reputation there.
