Recognizing Your Defining Moment

A little over two months ago, I taught a message entitled Faith To Stand. Right in the middle of that message I told the congregation that I would be teaching on defining moments and that some of the people there in the service were facing one right then. One week later I found out who some of those people were, and that they made the wrong decision in their defining moment. Five weeks later I completed a series entitled Recognizing Your Defining Moment. We defined a Defining Moment as, that critical point in time where we make decisions that will have a positive or negative effect on our immediate or distant future. The Bible is full of examples of those who made the right decision in their defining moment. For Example: Abram, to leave or not to leave; Rahab the harlot, to hide the spies or not to hide; The boy shepherd David, to fight or not to fight; Shadrac, Meshac and Abenego, to bow or not to bow; Daniel, to pray or not to pray; and the list goes on and on. What moment are you facing right now? It could be a defining moment. Just remember, the decision you make will define your future. Identity Impact Conference Osyka

Six months ago when we held our first IIC at ALC, we had no idea that we would have two more before the year was out. Yes, before we began the conference in June, we believed that the LORD would open other doors in other towns and cities to have the conference, but didnt know it would happen so soon. We were just stepping out in faith. Faith has a corresponding action. Proverbs 16:3 in the Amplified version says Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly to Him, He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will and] so shall your plans be established and succeed. I pray this prayer regularly, especially when I need to know the will of God for situations not directly stated in the Bible. I prayed this earlier this year and the thought I had was to do an Identity Impact Conference in different towns and cities. I believed that was God causing my thoughts to become agreeable to his will. But the thought was not enough. The thought became my confession and I acted on what I thought and believed. Long story short. Were scheduled to do our third conference in a couple of days. First Brookhaven, then Summit and now Osyka. PTL!!! I received a call from a pastor in Mendenhall 9 days ago to teach the identity message at his church. Maybe its your church or town next. Remember, faith has a corresponding action. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son , that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
