Everything we say we do we should be able to point to the ways that awe do it. Every child should have an advocate for them in the school. (system of care) We should all be accountable to the question,What does teaching and learning look like in your building. How do you learn and how is it sustained? WHen you do you unlock students passion. Challenge - What if school wasnt preparation for real life. What if it was real life? - CL What if we let kids d o stuff that matters now? - CL Engage with the world. Goal - Not to create the 21st century work force. Too low a bar. Should be to help our students become the 21st century, and beyond, citizens we desperatyl need. Fully realized people of their world. The scholars, poets, parents, activists, neighbors, voters, and yes workers, the citizens we need. The most important thing we do is to teach the child that we have in front of us to become a fully realized person. - CL All remember - Make sure you realize that all that we have learned server nothing else but to help us all become better people. Technology in our schools shuld be like oxygen - ubiquitous, necessary and invisible. IT has to be everyhwerwe and part of everyhting we do. Technology: Stop talking about it so much. Yes, the tool is powerful. Its a tool, but dont forget the people. Its people creating, doing, being. Its about their agency. Head, hearts, hands, and voice. Use the technology to serve those goals. Unless you are using these tool to research, create, collaborate and network, to make things that matter, to seek out answers, to share your knowledge. To show what you know and then to bring that voice to the world. All you ahve done is create the next greatest flash card.
