THIRD SUNDAY OF ADVENT

e are a group of people bound by our belief in Jesus Christ. Through our baptism, we are called to share in His work. Therefore we pledge ourselves through the ideal of shared ministry to build a community where all are welcomed, loved, needed, and appreciated; to celebrate the gift of life together in word and sacrament; and to promote justice, peace and equality for all people. - Our Lady of Victory Mission Statement

During the 5:00p Mass on Saturday, December 17 and during the 8:30a Mass on Sunday, December 18, there will be a communal anointing of the sick. Anyone with a physical or emotional ailment, may receive the anointing. Donations received in the My Christmas Offering envelope is your Christmas offering to support the works of the parish; donations received in the envelope marked Diocesan Catholic Charities will be sent to the Diocese of Columbus to support its works of charity. May God reward you for your generosity. The Scripture readings during Advent remind us to be ready for the coming of Jesus, the Son of God. Christmas is the celebration of the historical event of the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem. Christmas is more importantly a celebration of a central truth that God sent his only Son to save us from our sins. It is a celebration of the incredible love of a God who did not spare his own Son, but handed him over for us all" (Rom. 8:32). It is a celebration of God's deep desire to draw everyone to Himself. Advent and Christmas present for us an opportunity to remember that we were made for Heaven. At this time of the year, we are reminded of our call to encounter a Person - Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

Dear OLV Parishioners, Parishioner, Tom Farynowski, delivered the November food collection to Holy Rosary/St. Johns Church in Columbus. He said it was one of the largest food donations the church had ever received. The K-5th Grade Religious Education Children gave over 150 cans of food. Rose (the Holy Rosary/St. Johns Pantry Operations Manager) said they are now feeding over 350 families and the adjacent kitchen is serving over 6,000 meals each month. She was extremely grateful for the offering from Our Lady of Victory Parish. It is apparent that our One Can Per Family campaign is off to a good start. Decembers contribution will go to McArthur, OH where the need is also great! Thanks to all who are making the Food For the Hungry Program a successful one. --OLV St. Vincent De Paul Society

THIRD SUNDAY OF ADVENT

TEACH YOUR CHILDREN TO SHARE CHRISTS LOVE:

Encourage your children to show Christs love to others with tangible acts of giving or service. Allow them to choose one of these options or challenge them to come up with one of their own. Make a donation to a local ministry with money theyve earned or saved. Put together a care package for someone in the military. Buy Christmas gifts for a child or a family in need. Volunteer to work at a local ministry that reaches out to others during the holiday season. Whatever service you do this holiday season, be sure to do it as a family.

A CHRISTMAS GIFT FOR EVERYONE!

On Tuesday, December 20, St. Gabriel Catholic Radio is moving to a new, permanent home on AM 820. This AM 820 signal is much stronger than the previous station and will reach our parish beginning on December 20! So, set AM 820 as your car radio preset and enjoy solid Catholic programming that will help in your journey to know, love, and serve the Lord. AM 820 bumper magnets will be available in the back of the church the weekend of December 17-18 for those who wish to join in inviting others to turn up their faith.
