To fix this problem, find someone to help you and then follow these steps: 1. Lower the drivers window all the way. 2. Using a trim tool, carefully pry off the mirror mount cover. 3. With your assistant holding the mirror, remove the three flange nuts, then have your assistant pull the mirror base away from the door. 4. Cut an 8 mm x 150 mm piece of 5T EPT foam, and apply it to the vertical edge of the mirror base.

Hatch Glass Wont Open? Check the Rear Window Wiper Stop Switch
Currently Applies To: 0910 Pilot Got a hatch glass that wont open? A bad input from the rear window wiper stop switch might be the reason why. The under-dash fuse/relay box must see the rear window wiper in its park position before it will open the hatch glass. To check the switch input, hook up the HDS and select Body Electrical from the System Selection Menu and Wipers from the Mode Menu. Select Data List, and scroll down to Rear Auto Stop Switch. If the switch input is OFF, troubleshoot the rear window wiper stop switch circuit. If the switch input is ON, troubleshoot the hatch glass opener relay circuit.
5. Starting at the base of the power mirror wire harness, peel off about 3 inches of the black tape. 6. Cut a 100 mm length of electrical tape, and rewrap just that part of the harness. Make sure its a tight overlap for a smooth finish. 7. Have your assistant position the mirror base against the door while you reinstall the flange nuts and torque them to 9.8 Nm (7.2 lb-ft).
Weve noticed that some dealers have been trying to even things out by replacing the seat belt retractor or adding another button so the tongue sits higher on the seat belt. A word of advice: Dont do that! If you file a claim for the work, your dealership could get charged back.

Strong Fuel Smell While Filling the Tank? Check the Nozzle O-Ring
Currently Applies To: 0110 Civic GXs EDITORS NOTE: This article replaces Fuel Smell While Filling Tank: 0103 Civic GX in the November 02 issue of ServiceNews. Got a vehicle in your shop because of a strong fuel smell when filling the tank? The culprit might be a damaged or missing nozzle O-ring on the fuel receptacle.
NOZZLE O-RING
If this is the case, order P/N 91068-S1G-003 and replace that O-ring. Then drive over to a local CNG filling station and fill up the tank. If that strong smell is now gone, youre done with this repair. But if its not, or that O-ring was OK to begin with, then continue with normal system troubleshooting.

3. Start the engine, and turn on the A/C. If the compressor and fans stop their rapid cycling, the original sensor is bad. Refer to pages 21-86 thru 21-88 of the 0610 Civic S/M, and replace that sensor. (Online, enter keyword EVAPORATOR and select Evaporator Core Replacement from the list.) If the compressor and fans cycle like they should, then continue with normal system troubleshooting. IMPORTANT: Never run the A/C for more than just a couple of minutes with this setup. If you do, the evaporator core will freeze up and the system could get damaged.
2. Unplug the original sensors 2P connector from the wire harness, and plug in the new sensors 2P connector.
It enhances the data list for Civic Hybrids It includes the lockout feature for the HDS tablet. For details, check out New HDS Software Release: Version 2.020.015 in the November 09 issue of ServiceNews.
IMPORTANT: Make sure this software gets installed on all HDS devices right away. Your dealership will be considered out of compliance if its not done within 3 business days of receipt. Also, any repairs done with out-of-date HDS software might not be covered under warranty.
