The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena, Level: 1

Background
Riddick is an pernicious criminal. He's known throughout the galaxy for his brutality and cold-blooded personality. You play as Riddick in Assault on Dark Athena after he escaped from a prison in Escape from Butcher Bay. The Chronicles of Riddick 2009 includes a graphical enhancement of the previous game TCoR: Escape from Butcher Bay (2004) and a the whole new campaign Assault on Dark Athena. The game has a rich story with intriguing characters and of course the voice acting of Mr. Vin Diesel himself. TcoR: AoDA is the follow up from TCoR: EfBB where Riddick escapes the Butcher Bay prison. Riddick finds himself -Out of the frying pan, into the fire when he gets captured by the merciless Mercenary-ship Dark Athena. "They say hope begins in the dark... Level 1: Tutorial
The games tutorial isnt unique but very efficient. The level starts off with the player (Riddick) waking up on a beach. The whole level is designed to be a tutorial that will give the player the knowledge of how to play the game with its elements and functions, like these:

The tutorial is both theoretical and practical so that the player gets to try out the games functions and useabilities. Here Riddick meets a person called Jemas. Jemas is a person standing in the sewer heavily damaged and soaked in blood, Player can choose to talk to Jemas and hears his story where he introduces Them to the player. Then he gets introduced to bounty cards witch are used to summon dark imps, but no-one has ever succeeded in summoning them yet. Melee-fighting gets introduced quite early when Player faces an enemy in melee combat. The Player is recommended to drag and hide bodies in the dark to avoid detection from patrolling enemies. The Player gets introduced how to use ranged weapons and healing and more. Overall: Great Tutorial and Transition between the campaigns!

Interface
The interface is kept small and clean to get more, clear, view while playing.

Mission objectives
Find a way to get off the beach. And of course, learn how to play the game end of story.

Environment
Tags; Future, sci-fi, The inspiration for creating the environments is taken from the Alien movies, Event Horizon, Outland and previous Riddick esthetics.

Pacing
Tags; Action, Stealth, FPS The level starts off calm and moves to action. There is always something ahead and the Player will be busy reading tutorials and learning the game.

Enemies

Guard/patrol are weak and Riddick can easily handle them with his fists. Drones are also fairly easy as they are mindless and slow. The Player can hold their body up and use their guns even though its attached to the drone.

Level overview (map)


1-starting area, player searches for the sewer entrance 2-entrance to the sewers Player finds the sewer entrance and proceed to talk to Jemas. 3-Bounty Card and first fight(melee), Player finds the first Bounty Card and faces a guard and battles him in melee combat. 4-area patrolled by drones Player faces drones and learns how to deal with them. 5-medical station Player gets introduced to the healing function 6-final area of the map and final battle! Player fights with multiple enemies and gets a new weapon then moves to the next level.
