NONE NONE COURSE DESCRIPTION: A comprehensive study of Philippine History and Constitution, its main focus is on the understanding of current developments based on their historical perspectives. It covers the broad areas of Philippine History and our countrys constitutional roots and developments with special emphasis on the 1987 Philippine Constitution. The students are expected to acquire a thorough understanding of our historical and constitutional roots and developments as shown in their critique paper. COURSE OBJECTIVES: The students are expected to recognize the different phases of our history and relate these to the developments of the Supreme law of the land; and analyze critically our countrys roots and constitutional progress from the early development of our history and judicial system to the present. Course Intended Learning Outcomes (CILOs) At the end of the course, the students shall be able to: Teaching Learning Activities (TLAs) Class room miniresearch on What you know and what you learn about Philippine history. Trace the early Philippine history from pre-colonial era to the birth of Filipino nationalism.

Compare the different historical periods from the Katipunan to the Japanese occupation. Establish the different historical transitions from the declaration of Martial Law to the restoration of republicanism under the 1987 Philippine Constitution. Analyze the constitutional provisions regarding the branches of government, citizenship, suffrage, bill of rights, constitutional commission and the transitory provisions.
