portland state university for the future of quality and equality. idit dobb-weinstein: "teaching is action and thinking at once. What I try to guard against most when I teach is not speaking as if my answer were conclusive, so as to avoid (to the extent possible) any kind of dogmatic appropriation. It is understandable why students might wish to imitate their teachers, but there are different modes of imitation. I try very hard to avoid the mimetic appropriation that is immediate, passive, and occludes thinking. One other reason is that if I made clear what my views were, and my views appeared as if they were final, it would preclude the possibility of first, students challenging me and second, learning from my students. The relation between the student and teacher is, to me, a dynamic relationship . . . Teaching and learning is a movement that occurs between. In other words, we are at once both agent and patient, both teacher and learner. If we are not very careful, we can do a great deal of harm. And that, too, I have learned from my teachers, Maimonides especially. I believe my task is to provoke students to think and to engage them in genuine dialogue and questioning. To paraphrase a rabbinic saying, 'I have learned from my teachers, and I have learned from my peers, but I have learned most from my students.' And that is a continuous process of learning."

please send in writing the exact and precise events of which i am accused, and what evidence you have, and what right you think you have to deny me and my lawyers access to this information and for you to accuse, try, and convict me, mary eng, in absentia.

please send this information to "Kevin Zeese" <kzeese@earthlink.net>, kfink@finksteinberg.com, and glennnunes@me.com, you may copy me in. do not however continue to write me without legal counsel included. if they feel that you should stop harassing me, and you should communicate only to my legal representation, that will be pending their decision to take this case in the full scope of what kind of punishment and harassment from my free speech rights you are attempting to enforce and what type of conviction you are attempting when we are not been informed the SPECIFIC instance of which i have been accused and what evidence you have. please drop the hold immediately on my account, as your failure to communicate my charges with me and with my lawyers is a violation of my basic right to know what i have been accused of. i would prefer to receive this copy-in to maryeng1@gmail.com do not however continue to send me threatening letters without including my lawyers it will be easier for all of us if every one is fully informed of what you are accusing me of, convicting me of, and preventing my lawyers from knowing about your attempts to abridge my free speech rights to protest torture as authorized by Condoleeza Rice thanks, all, mary rose lenore eng Posted by mary rose lenore eng (please) at 11:26 0 comments Email ThisBlogThis!Share to TwitterShare to Facebook

torture in guantanamo, abu ghraib, and bagram airbase

a student against torture---

for more on why PSU supports academic torture advocates like Condoleeza Rice and punishes human rights activists like Mary Eng who morally oppose the racist torture of guantanamo detainees or abu ghraib detainees or the murder of the victims in the film Collateral Murder please email me at maryeng1@gmail.com or check my everyday blog @braingarbage on twitter http://braingarbagedystopie.blogspot.com/

follow this thread of attempts to punish me for "therealPSU" and for making youtubes of the corrupt administration's war profiteering via torture advocate Condoleeza Rice. if anyone has time to write Dominic a letter and explain to him what free speech means that would be nice. the administration's harassment of me at this point is both disgusting and amusingly petty and actionable in a higher court than their petty monkey hearing to which i was submitted to their "JUstice" in absentia. i suggest they read the gitmo files published by wikileaks or take another look at the Abu Ghraib photography. a picture is worth a thousand words, etc. November 11, 2011 Mary Eng
