Past Progressive Used to describe an action happening at a time in the past, or two actions that were happening at the same time (one action interrupted the other). Gerunds and Infinitives Gerunds -> Verb + ING -> Gerunds are used for general likes, and general actions. When using like, love, enjoy, prefer, hate, etc use the gerund. Examples: I love eating out.

I really enjoy watching movies. Infinitive -> to + verb -> Infinitives are used for specific wishes, suggestions. When using WOULD like, WOULD love, WOULD prefer or WANT, use the Infinitive.
