JOEPA THROUGH THE YEARS

Not much has changed about Joe. He may be a little bit more wrinkled, his step may be a little bit
slower and his hair may be a little grayer, but he's still Joe. He's still the same Joe that joined the
Penn State staff as an assistant coach for Rip Engle in 1950. He's still the same Joe that created a
national powerhouse at a farm school in the middle of Pennsylvania. And he's still the same Joe
that changed the landscape of college football.
Some may say their perception of the coach has changed over the last week, but behind those coke-
bottled glasses and rolled up khakis is the same man that has patroled the Penn State sideline for
62 years. People's opinion can change. But Joe's image will last forever.
