WHAT

YOUR LAB DOES NOW!

Your master cast with your design.

Lab adds wax to indicate loca8on of clasp arms and block out below survey lines.

Con8nue to add wax below survey lines.

Using a wax carver a?achment in the surveyor trim blockout wax parallel to path of inser8on.

Add very thin sheet of relief wax in M.C. coverage area and thicker material in area of meshwork reten8on to create space for acrylic when processed.

Further trimming relief (spacing) sheets. Note the cut out for 8ssue stop.

Undercuts blocked out. Relief wax is clear over meshwork area in this shot. Note cas8ng sprue in center of cast.

Previous cast is place in ask and reversible hydrocolloid owed over cast. Once hardened the master cast is removed and the impression of blocked out and relieved cast is poured in refractory stone seen in the next picture.

This is the refractory cast which is a duplicate of your master cast with all the block out and relief wax. Note the shelves on #19 for placement of reten8ve and reciproca8ng arms.

The lab then starts to place preformed wax pa?erns and free handed wax to the design of the framework. Above is half a lingual bar with mesh.

Preformed wax or plas8c pa?erns for a variety of components.

A completed wax up that duplicates the nal rpd framework.

The waxed up refractory cast is invested in a cas8ng ring using the same material as the cast. Similar to how you invested your gold crown.

The burned out (8 hours) ring is placed in a cas8ng machine that melts the metal and automa8cally casts it into the mold when the correct metal temperature is reached.

The casted framework is broken out of the mold and then trimmed and polished and then ?ed to the master cast.

The completed framework is checked on your master cast (all wax from relief and blockout having been removed) and then returned to you for the framework try-in. Note: the only thing you ask of your lab is a framework that ts the master cast and follows your design correctly.
