JOB DESCRIPTION / PROFILE

INTEGRATION MANAGER (BOILER) To manage/track the contractor and monitor/record the elements of work related to the area of responsibility, with specific reference to the interface activities that affect safety, schedule compliance and integration with other contractors. Focusing these efforts to ensure successful Construction, Commissioning and Commercial Operation of the Power Plant. Support the boiler unit supervision team to carry out their roles and responsibilities mentoring and supporting the individuals to fulfill development. 1. Monitor and track the work progress of the contractor and implementing schedule reviews on integration between contractors, to support the critical dates. 2. Manage the contractor with regard to above working practices, highlighting to the Discipline Project Manager & Boiler Construction Manager any deficiencies in scheduling or resources to achieve the target dates. This to be achieved through the daily review meetings on site with the contractor and analysis of the project deliverables and schedule targets; 3. Liaise with Construction Manager to identify the steps taken to rectify the issue before escalating the concerns. These matters to be recorded on the Master List of Boiler Key Activities which is updated weekly by the Planning Dept., to establish impacts on Targets and Key Milestones; 4. Provide technical support for Construction Manager detailing planned activities that have the potential to impact on schedule and work coordination. Developing an impact study that the delayed or outstanding works will have on the critical path, plus the affects on key activities. 5. Attend contractor weekly meetings to provide technical support to the construction and project manager and establish remedial actions with the contractor on potential failures as noted above. 6. Specific Integration duties with respect to the interface matters related to other discipline supervision within the Eskom Project Team related to the respective boiler. 7. Communications and Management Reporting to facilitate senior management reports; 8. Carry out specific tasks and requirements as per Construction Managers needs to support project needs.

1. FUNCTIONAL OUTPUTS / ACTIVITIES: 1. Monitor and track the work progress of the contractor to best understanding the planned activities, interacting with the contractor to establish the validity of the 90 day look ahead in the elements of work where interface activities exist. Implementing schedule reviews on areas requiring coordination between contractors, engaging with the Eskom counterpart develop the best way forward to support the critical dates. 2. Manage the area of responsibility interacting with the Contractors Representatives to understand the planned work and support coordination/integration. Also to establish adherence to the schedule and identify potential delays caused by other activities during the contractor meeting on site. Thus developing a pro-active approach to Project Deliverables and Targets, highlighted on the Boiler Master List. With the aim of supporting delivery to Commissioning and Commercial Operation of the Power Boiler 3. Liaises with Construction Manager and the Discipline Project Manager to highlight contractor deficiencies and strategize the best way forward for project deliverables. Track interface progress with respect to supporting hand over dates and enabling Project Targets and Key Milestones to be achieved. Hold meetings to cascade integration requirements and develop strategies to resolve issues during progress meetings. 4. Perform specific integration duties with respect to project execution: Managing coordination activities between Project Packages, Contractors, and other Project Disciplines; Make decisions on how to proceed with coordination efforts to meet Project Targets and Milestones; Liaise continuously with Construction Team and Planning Department to review and analyze project plans and schedules, and identify coordination / integration requirements; Review work programs and perform Risk Assessments and devise strategies to eliminate, mitigate and / or manage the identified risks; Support compilation of periodic reports on the execution of the project, with reference to targets and key milestone dates;

Analyze program / schedule deviations and propose potential actions to address such deviations within the supervisor scope of works.

5. Communications & Management Reporting: Attend meetings with Discipline Project Manager & Construction Manager to discuss progress, and identifying current problems and potential risks; Attend meetings with Construction & Package Management to give feedback and report on the work program relevant to current coordination and integration issues, and potential risks. Attend weekly and ad hoc meetings with the Contractor providing representation at the contractor daily meetings. 6. Construction Managers Tasks: Carry out detailed review of specific areas to develop strategy to support project; Support additional/alternative areas of the boiler erection to give sufficient supervision as the Contractor expedites critical areas of work
