This trip was sweet and pleasantly
different for us. Upon our arrival in
Thailand, we got acquainted with the
friendly and hospitable locals.

Hotel Elegance Suites has facilities like
sauna, pool, massage and gym and it is
close to Robinson’s, MacDonald’s and
money changers. A memorable moment
for us was the visit to the Open Safari
Zoo in Bangkok where they played
Indian and Iranian songs to welcome
the visitors!
Upon our arrival at Patong Tower
in Phuket, the QVI representative
welcomed us warmly and provided
useful information like map of the island,
location for supermarket, spas and the
beach. Our city tour program included
transport from the hotel, a tour guide,
a visit to in Phuket highlands, animal
shows, visits to Buddha temples and a
jewelry shop. The fantastic weather and
charming calm and tranquility in Phuket
are definitely also worth a mention.
Finally, we would like to suggest for
families to utilise the QVI membership
packages. Do not be deterred by
language difficulty. Although many Thais
do not speak much English, their warm
and friendly nature will make up for any
communication gap.

Koh Samui, Thailand
As unique as its name, Koh Samui
offered us great adventures and exciting
moments throughout our one week stay
on the island. We checked into a beautiful
resort where we were greeted with warm
and friendly service.
We took the Island Safari City Tour, where
we caught the monkey and elephant
show, went on an elephant trekking ride,
visited the Khunaram temple (which is
famous for its mummy monk) and the Big
Buddha temple.
We made sure we didn’t miss the Sea Safari
Tour which set off from Nathon pier to the
Ang Thong National Marine Park. On Mae
Ko Island, we climbed to an amazing
viewpoint overlooking the Green Lagoon
and some breathtaking scenery of the
island. After a delicious buffet lunch, we
explored the ancient limestone cave at
Tai Phow Island and went snorkeling.
On our final day, we had the wonderful
opportunity to meet the General Manager
of Prana Resort & Spa (QVI), Mr. Simon
Illingworth, who shared details with us
on the development of the resort. We
truly believe it is going to be one of the
most prestigious and spectacular places
in Koh Samui.
As for us, Koh Samui was indeed a perfect
location for our honeymoon! A million
thanks to QVI Club for providing us with
such a lovely holiday experience!

On June 2007, my mom, my brother and I
went to Club Intrawest – Blue Mountain
in Ontario, Canada. The trip took about 2
hours from my house but it was worth it.
I really liked this resort. It has 2 swimming

brother, a hammock, and free internet!

AWC joins the 18th Philippines Travel Mart 7 – 9 September 2007
In support of the government’s medical
tourism programme, Amezcua Wellness
Centre joined the “18th Philippine Travel
Mart” sponsored by the Philippine
Tour Operators Association at the SM
Megatrade Hall.
The Travel Mart is the country’s biggest
annual event that promotes domestic
tourism, a grand celebration that brings
together many important players in
the industry.
AWC decorated their booth with
embroidered native shades as a
backdrop and white drapes as decorative
overhanging. There were accent pieces
around that evoked the actual Asian-
inspired interiors of the Centre, with
a wide-screen plasma television that
continuously played AWC videos.
General Manager Kathy Veneracion and
Medical Director Dr. Edwin Bien took
time from their busy schedules to help
man the booth, entertaining enquiries
and promoting the services of the Centre.
On the second day, an added attraction
was a complimentary iris scan by Dr.
Fernando Jose, OD, one of the Centre’s
Medical Consultants.

In order to get closer to our IRs and leaders in India and promote a better
understanding of our products, Q Lifestyle held product trainings in cities across
India in Ahmedabad, Banglalore, Bhubneshwar, Kolkatta, Mumbai, New Delhi,
Tiruvalla and Trissur. Through such trainings, Mr Arun Kumar (Zonal Manager
for QuestNet India) and Mr. Chong Kok Hong (Head of Product and Business Mr. Arun Kumar with some of the IRs who
attended Q Lifestyle’s product trainings

audience about QVI Club Memberships and the new Splendours of India package.
Each training ended with a FAQ session where an interactive exchange between
the trainers and IRs ensued.
All across the eight locations, we were greeted with enthusiastic response from the
IRs, with some sessions packing as many as 500 attendees!
The amazing positive energy that was felt all around the training was extremely

About Koh Samui
Location, Location, Location
The island of coconuts, Koh Samui, is the third largest island in
Thailand and also one of the top destinations in Asia. Visitors
arrive to this sun soaked tropical paradise by taking a short
60 minutes plane ride from Bangkok (90 minutes from
Singapore) to this most beautiful tropical paradise island. Prana
Samui is just 5 minutes drive from the Samui International
Airport and 10 minutes away from the busy Chaweng Beach
and shopping strip.
When you arrive, your organised transfer will bring you to the
resort where you can quickly start to relax.
Guests who choose to have the full Prana treatment and book
the exclusive suite will receive complimentary VIP transfers.
Prana Samui is idyllically located on the tranquil northern coast
of the island on Bangrak beach, a two kilometre sandy shoreline
fringed by coconut palms leaning over the sea.
Bangrak beach is better known as “Big Buddha Beach” due to
a very large golden statue of Buddha which is the prominent
landmark in the area. Prana Samui is located very near to The
Big Buddha Temple at Wat Phrai Yai. This is one of the Koh
Samui’s most famous landmarks and is visible from the resort
and from several kilometres away.
From Big Buddha Beach, it takes about 15-minute drive to the
bustling, vibrant and action-packed centre of Chaweng Beach.
Taxi transportation is available on the island. Although the use
of meters has improved recently, tourists are always advised to
try to use taxis that display `Taxi-Meter”. Make sure you ask the
driver to use the meter before you set off. If not, settle on a price
before you start.
Another fun way of getting around is by “Songtaew” or “Thai
pickup bus”, which is very inexpensive. The Songtaew drive a
circular route looking for fares - so you will see a cosmopolitan
mixture of different views and can meet some interesting tourists
and Thai local people as they get on and off the Songtaew.
Climate
Koh Samui has a pleasant climate all year round with a
temperature of 25 - 34 degrees Celsius.
The island has three official seasons:
• Warm and dry season from February till August;
• Rainy season from the end of September till December;
• Cool season which extends from October till January.
When is the best time to visit Koh Samui
The best time would be around January and February, the cool
season of the year. March to June are the hottest months, with
temperature ranging from 32 - 40 degrees.
The rainy season starts from September to mid December.
Although it is still sunny, downpours do become more frequent
as the year comes to a close. Koh Samui tends to be a little
less hectic and the shopkeepers are prepared to barter to a
good price.
What can I do there?
A plethora and varied range of activities can be sought from
Samui to satisfy the desires and wants of every holidaymaker.
Go island hopping, snorkelling or diving, or stay awhile on one of
the islands to enjoy and relax with what you have.
Diving
The underwater world of Koh Samui & Koh Tao beholds a vast
array of wonderful and unique marine creatures from the smallest
invertebrate through to giant sperm whales. Explore brilliantly-
coloured coral reefs and be dazzled by fish of a thousand hues.
Expect close encounters with giant barracuda, manta rays, sea
cows and even sharks! Whether you are a beginner or an expert,
there are a number of dive schools on the island that Prana
Resorts and Spa can recommend to you. We can even organise
one on one lessons if you so desire.
Snorkelling
The bays of Koh Samui contain many interesting coral reefs
abundant with tropical fish and other creatures. You can spend
hours investigating the coral right off the beach in front of the
resort. Equipment can be rented from the resort or nearby dive
shops.
Sea Kayaking
Koh Samui’s shoreline and nearby islands harbour a wealth of
marine, animal and plant life. For a close and leisurely look, there
is no better option than to spend a few hours or a day in a sea
kayak. Half-day, day and overnight guided trips are available
through the resorts. Kayaks can also be rented at the activity
centre next to the resort.
Sailing
The island and surrounding islands lend itself perfectly to a small
tour in a sailboat, a daytrip or romantic dinners while enjoying
the magnificent view and sunset.
Thai Cooking lessons
Learn how to make some famous Thai specialties. More
restaurants are now revealing the secrets behind their dishes
during 2-hour lessons in fully-equipped, modern kitchens. Fruit
and vegetable carving lessons are also quite popular for the
creatively-inspired. We can organise a special lesson with the
Amala Chef, who can help you create some mouth watering
dishes, that are simple and very impressive should you have a
dinner party at home after your holiday.
Thai Boxing
In Thailand, Muay Thai, in other words “Thai boxing” is the
national sport. It is a true Thai spectacle and is regarded as an
art form in its own right. While in Thailand, you will see and hear
noisy utility vehicles with fighters riding in the back touting for
spectators. Many people try their hands (feet, knees and elbows
too) at this sport while they are here in local training camps.
Great stories to take home to impress your friends - as well as
some bruises as souvenirs too.

Elephant Trekking
Enjoying an Elephant Show and trekking on the back of an
elephant would be ideal activities for those who wish to admire
the undisturbed secret waterfalls and get back to nature.
You will be amazed at the artistic talent of the pachyderms as

DISCOVER SCUBA
This begins with a 15-20 minute session in Prana’s swimming
pool to give you an introduction to breathing through a regulator,
in the comfort of waist deep water. You will then take a trip to
one of the fantastic dive destinations around Koh Samui, where
you will do two dives under the supervision of our Instructors, to
a maximum depth of 12 metres
Having a taste of exploring the underwater world, you may
want to do your PADI certificate.
PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) is the
world’s largest recreational diving membership and diver
training organisation, which is composed of modules divided
into theory and practical skills development.
There are two beginner PADI courses available for our guests
who want to proudly take home a PADI Certificate.
PADI SCUBA DIVER
This is a 2 day course for a lifetime certification which allows you
to dive anywhere in the world to a depth of 12 metres under the
guidance of a PADI Professional.
OPEN WATER DIVER
This is a 3 or 4 day course for a lifetime certification which allows
you to dive anywhere in the world with a certified buddy.
If you already have your PADI certificate then there are many
additional courses you can choose to experience in Koh Samui
to extend your diving knowledge and skill.

Sticky Rice with Mango

Thai Tea Ice Cream Recipe

 Som Tam Thai Papaya Salad Tung Tong Thai Egg Roll
1 unripe papaya 1 small tin water chestnuts
1 lemon 1 large shallot
1 tomato 4 tbs cilantro
1 tbs thai palm sugar 3/4 cup frozen corn, thawed
2 cloves of garlic 1 hot pepper (serrano, jalapeno etc)
3 hot chilli peppers 1 egg, yolk and white divided
3 tbs of soy sauce egg roll wrappers
pinch of salt 1 tbs cornstarch
roasted peanuts 2 tbs water
Oil for frying
Shred unripe papaya. Using thai mortar and pestle. Pound Plum or Peanut sauce for dipping
garlic and chilli pepper. Add palm sugar, shredded papaya,
soy sauce, lemon juice and zest. Add water chestnuts, shallot, cilantro, corn, pepper and
egg yolk to a food processor. Pulse until well combined but

2 cups glutinous (sticky) rice, 1-½ cups cream
soaked in cold water for at least one hour and drained 1-½ cups whole milk
1 ¼ cups coconut milk, canned or freshly prepared 2 eggs
