HUMOUR FROM LAST YEARS FRIENDS DISCUSSION GROUPS Contributed by Volker Heine Turning to testimonies, we were reminded of the Yorkshire Quaker who answered his front door to loud knocking late one night. A man standing there started to say, I dont want to bother you, butat which point our Friend said,In that case,Goodnight to youand shut the door. Verily, let your nay be nay. Testimonies have their problems . There was the teenager who had left home for the first time, and on returning, said, Mother, you taught us to find that of God in every man, but you never told us about there being anything else!

PALM LEAF PRAYERS P. Solomon Raj

I was hungry and you formed a humanities club and discussed my hunger. I was imprisoned and you crept off quietly to your church and prayed for my release. I was naked and in your minds you debated the morality of my appearance. I was sick and you knelt and gave thanks for your life. I was homeless and you preached to me of the spiritual shelter of the Love of God. I was lonely and you left me alone to pray for me. You seem so Holy, so close to God. But I am still very hungry and lonely and cold.
