INTRODUCTION

1.1 Background of the Study Online reservation has been open in the World Wide Web, whether it is a reservation for a seat in a concert, airline seat reservation, or a hotel booking. In this process, customers find it convenient, more accessible, and most of all it saves valuable time for their busy schedule. According to Del Rosario Et. Al 2009, Reservation System is a transaction processing system that solves the problem encountered during the manual reservation. The computerized Reservation system aims to simplify the manual reservation fastest and accurate. The researchers decided to automate the reservation done in Tolentinos Catering. The Tolentinos Catering in Bagbaguin Caloocan City is one of the famous catering in Bagbaguin. They offer several services that surely satisfied their customers. The business started way back in 1992 of October. Jun Tolentino is the owner of the catering. The business doesnt have a website that can help them to advertise their catering. For their advertisement, they only depend on flyers and also to those customers who recommend them to their catering. Their current system is the manual way of accepting orders wherein their customer needs to go to their place. In handling reserved orders, the customer should reserve 3 5 days before the event. In terms of the payment, the customer should pay 10% of the total payment and the 90% upon rendering the service. From the mentioned problems, there is undeniably a need of a better system that can help the Tolentinos Catering in enhancing their services to their valuable clients. The proposed system is to have an online reservation that can help Mr. Jun Tolentinos to increase his sales and it will be easier for the clients to browse the available services that they conducting and the prices. The lists of the service and foods they offering will be more organized and updated

easily. The system has a database that can store the customer's account and their information wherein it is more organized and easier to update because it is computerized. This official website of the Tolentinos Catering is open to the public for the purpose of browsing, reserving through online.

Analysis

2.1 The programming language being used. Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP)

Is a general-purpose server-side scripting language originally designed for web

development to produce dynamic web page. PHP stands for Hypertext Preprocessor. PHP is commonly used in any type of system because is acts as a filter, taking input from a file or stream containing text and/or PHP instructions and outputting another stream of data; and most commonly the output will be HTML.

PHP is the most important programming language used in creating the system of Tolentinos catering. It especially used for the validations of different panel like the admin panel, registration panel and customer panel.
Hypertext Mark-Up Language (HTML) -Refers to means of creating structured documents by denoting structural semantics for text such as headings, paragraphs, lists, links, quotes and other items. In the case of the system, HTML is largely used in terms of the structural designs of the system. MySQL Refers to a database computer language designed for managing data in relational

database management systems. Database

2.2 The flow of the program used in the system

Figure 2: Context Diagram of Tolentinos Catering Online System Figure 2 illustrates the Context Diagram of the system. There are three users: the Admin, Member, and Non-Member/Visitor. The admin will have to input his username and password, and in return, he may have full access of the system, including the features of it. NonMember/Visitor, if not yet a member must register first. Inputs included are their personal information, then the username and password. After registration, an email will be sent to them for account activation. Member, they are asked to input their username and password, after they verify their account, they will have system access, and the use of available features limited to them.

The following conclusion is based upon the information collected from the literature study and the case study. In this conclusion the research questions of the study will be answered. The recommendation also will give in this chapter. The Tolentinos Catering business is also one kind of organization that needs a management to run this business. Some people define management is a set activities designed to achieve an organizations by using its resources effectively and efficiently in a changing environment, Effectively means having the intended result; efficiently means accomplishing the objectives with the minimum resources. The management can also defined as tasks or activities involved managing and organization: planning, organizing, leading and controlling. Some define
