Questionnaire Graph Analysis

This graph shows that more females answered and filled out my questionnaire. However, there wasnt a major difference and therefore my results are still reliable.

2) How old are you?

This graph shows that majority of the people i asked to fill out the questionnaire were around the age 17 and 21. However, 5 people who filled out the questionnaire were also between the ages 12 and 16. Between the ages 22 and 26 2 people were asked and no one was asked from the age above 27. This shows me that my target audience will be around the age 17 and 21, based on the information that i have collected.

3) What genre of music do you listen to?

The most popular genre of music was RNB as 10 people had chosen it, the second most popular was Hip- Hop and then Pop. Therefore based on my information, the genre i chose will be from one of the top three genres listened to. Cultural, Rock, Jive and Grime were left blank and therefore i will not be choosing these 4 genres.

4i) Do you watch music videos?

Everyone who filled out this questionnaire all said that they watched music videos, this shows me that the information that i have collected will be reliable and will help me carry out decisions on what to include in my music video.

4ii) If yes, which music channels do you watch?

Question 4ii shows me that most of the people who filled out the questionnaire watch their music videos on MTV Bass. 6 people also chose other; they prefer to watch their music videos on music channels such as 4 Music and Viva. The results collected have also shown me that none of the people that filled out the questionnaire watched their music videos on MTC Rock. 4 Music show a variety of genres on their channel, however most of the music that they play are based around the RNB and Hip-Hop genres. Viva also show a wide range of music, however they to tend to target mostly RNB and Hip-Hop music, but they also show quite allot of Pop music.

5) How do you feel about women being objectified in music

videos? This was an open question and i received a variety of answers. Some people said that they thought that it was wrong and that it was said that now days women are portrayed as sex objects and that it is very indecent and inappropriate. Some people also thought that it was very exposing and offensive. However, the majority of them had said that it is what sells todays music and videos and that it catches peoples eyes.

6) How do you consume music videos?

This graph shows me that most people consume their music videos through the television; however, 6 people also consume music videos via their phone. The two least popular categories were by computers and Ipods.

Graph 7 shows me that most people expect to see people in revealing clothes, they also expect to see quite allot of alcohol and jewellery. However, less people expect to see food and stages in their music videos. 5 people also chose other and said that they wanted to see DJ equipment and microphones, they also said that they want to see quite allot of dancing and therefore i am thinking that i want to include a fair amount of dancing and performing.

8) What do you look for on a music CD cover? (tick more than one)

Most people look for a song list on a music cover CD and therefore i want to make sure that on my CD cover i include one. People also intend to see a title and bar code and so i also want to include them. However, less people want to see musical instruments and alcohol on the music CD cover and so i dont think that my CD cover will show that. Many people also chose the category other and wanted to see seductive poses and maybe a bit of furniture, for example chairs and sofas.

9) Do you prefer music videos to subvert or adhere to genres?

The final graph shows me that most people who filled out the questionnaire want music videos to adhere to the genres. Therefore i am going to make sure that my chosen genre will have features and characteristics that people base upon with the particular genre.
