To require regular briefings on efforts to capture or kill
the leadership of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel.

1 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

2 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
3 SECTION 1. CONGRESSIONAL BRIEFINGS ON THE DECAPI-

4 TATION OF THE JALISCO NEW GENERATION

5 CARTEL.

6 (a) DEFINED TERM.—In this Act, the term ‘‘appro-

7 priate committees of Congress’’ means—
8 (1) the Committee on the Judiciary of the Sen-
9 ate;

1 (2) the Committee on Armed Services of the
2 Senate;
3 (3) the Committee on Foreign Relations of the
4 Senate;
5 (4) the Committee on Homeland Security and
6 Governmental Affairs of the Senate;
7 (5) the Select Committee on Intelligence of the
8 Senate;
9 (6) the Committee on the Judiciary of the
10 House of Representatives;
11 (7) the Committee on Armed Services of the
12 House of Representatives;
13 (8) the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the
14 House of Representatives;
15 (9) the Committee on Homeland Security of the
16 House of Representatives; and
17 (10) the Permanent Select Committee on Intel-
18 ligence of the House of Representatives
19 (b) BRIEFING REQUIREMENT.—Not later than 90
20 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, and every
21 90 days thereafter, the Secretary of Defense shall provide
22 a briefing to the appropriate committees of Congress re-
23 garding any progress made toward capturing or killing the
24 leadership of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (also

1 known as the‘‘ Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generación’’ or
2 ‘‘CJNG’’).
