Our team includes GPs with special interests (homeopathy, acupuncture, obesity and pain management); Allied Healthcare Professionals who provide counselling, clinical psychology, hypnotherapy, osteopathy and reflexology/aromatherapy (to name a few) and Consultants whose skills dovetail with these and other clinical problems. Whats more, many commonly prescribed items are actually less expensive on private prescription. Some drugs can, however, be very expensive and would form part of any discussion about treatment. There are also many safe homeopathic remedies, which can be used to complement other traditional approaches. GP-Plus also offers a unique opportunity to access the use of newer preventative drug therapies, which might be indicated but otherwise rationed or unavailable through the NHS. Last but not least, all fees are communicated in clear terms, free from unnecessary medical jargon. There are no hidden costs or membership fees. GP-Plus is principally a pay-as-you-go service but individual and company accounts can be set-up to reflect the nature of use.

Private GP client parking at the rear of the building (Woodside Place Lane) can be booked with your appointment. 5 minutes walk from Charing Cross station. If you are driving, the easiest approach is via Bath/Berkeley/Elderslie Streets, or come off Woodlands Road at Lynedoch Street.

Just off Queen Street and 5 minutes walk from Princes Street, GP-Plus is centrally located and particularly convenient for City Centre businesses, hotels, visitors, delegates and local residents. If you are driving, it is advisable to approach GP-Plus via Heriot Row, as parking is readily available here, on Moray Place or on Wemyss Place itself.
We suggest that wheelchair users and those with special access or communication needs inform reception at the time of contact as specific assistance measures can be activated in advance.

Healthcare on Your Terms GP-Plus is a first-class Private GP, Occupational and Complementary Medical service centre. We operate on a pay-as-you-go basis and offer same-day, unhurried GP appointments between 08.00 and 20.00, each weekday. GP-Plus can be used now and again or exclusively as an add-on (or piggy-back) option to complement any existing NHS (or other) service or registration. We do not replace NHS GP registration and there is no out-of-hours service (we promote NHS GP registration(when appropriate), even if this is a service that you do not intend to use). Your consent can be given to have a report sent to wherever your usual medical records are kept (or simply remain within GP-Plus) to keep everything up-to-date. GP-Plus works hand in hand with an extensive network of specialists and allied healthcare professionals (AHPs) on a self-pay and health insurance basis. This network can extend to national and international providers to suit particular needs and circumstances. GP-Plus was established in Edinburgh by Dr. Peter Copp at the turn of the new millennium and has proven to be very popular with local business executives, residents, commuters, tourists, visitors and delegates alike. Their needs can be very different but are underpinned by our focus on key areas of convenience, choice, quality of consultation and good old-fashioned personal service. We encourage you to help us by arriving at least 5 minutes before your appointment time to complete our detailed registration form (which can also be downloaded anytime from the home-page of our website). Complex information can be obtained from medical records elsewhere, with your consent, to suit particular circumstances (e.g. second-opinion work). Our VitalSigns HealthCheck programme pays more than lip service to your unique needs when it comes to the provision of comprehensive medical check-ups. These are high-quality (low-volume) activities for the discerning client who values protected, unhurried doctor time with an in-built opportunity for a debriefing session after receiving their detailed and personally focused report. This follow-up is an ideal venue to be pro-active with intervention in key action areas, rather than just passing you and the report on to another doctor. Our detailed VitalSigns Assessment Proforma (VAP) can also be downloaded and printed from, or submitted directly on our secure website. Our interest extends well beyond the traditional approaches to risk management and can include tests and scanning at the cutting edge of early detection and screening. This is especially important in the rapidly changing disciplines of Cancer and Heart disease. In this respect, GP-Plus has forged a close relationship with advanced scanning centres in the UK who offer access to outstanding early detection technology. These tests are well complemented by our guidance, interpretation and follow-up. Details of our VitalSigns programme are on our website (or simply ask us for a brochure).

Workcare (and healthcare) on Your Terms GP-Plus has successfully transferred many of these key skills and advantages to the challenging areas of Occupational Health and Company Doctoring. This part of the business has grown steadily and we are able to be flexible enough to provide niche to all-inclusive services to small and large organisations on a contractual or ad-hoc basis. We also work with other selected specialists to make sure that your precise needs are matched appropriately, whatever they may be. GP-Plus can easily provide the nuts-and-bolts of a solid OH service (e.g. sickness and retirement management, pre-employment, DDA issues and health surveillance) as well as provide tailor-made policies for alcohol, drugs and critical incidents (and other areas of compliance and risk management). We have particular experience and interest in Back Pain, work-related upper-limb disorder (WRULD) and stress-related ill health. GP-Plus is also uniquely placed to provide the option of a Managed-Care approach to Occupational Health and so accelerate the investigation and management of key employees frustrated by the uncertainty of waiting times. With or without any health insurance, this is a strategic and cost-effective win-win approach and has proved to be very popular with employers and employees alike.
