EL ALCATRAZ

Es un Baile tpico del Per negro y pertenece al gnero Festejo, la forma actual plasma a principios del siglo XX a partir de los ritmos africanos trados al Per por los esclavos negros y era ejecutado en Lima e Ica. La vestimenta de los hombres est dada por un pantaln corto que llega hasta la rodilla y una camisa que generalmente se remanga hasta los codos, el pantaln se encuentra adornado de un papel amarrado a la parte de atrs llamado cucurucho. Las mujeres visten falda que es el vestuario principal la cual debe de ser de las que se dicen de tres o cuatro tiempos y de vuelo hasta la rodilla y podr usar una blusa pegada al cuerpo, con los pies descalzos o con una zapatilla delgada de las que se dicen de ballet. Ambos danzantes tienen una vela prendida y el juego consiste en danzar en torno a las mujeres, tratando de quemarle el cucurucho de papel que lleva prendido en el trasero. Baile de ritmo sincopado y complejo, acompaado de Cajn, Guitarra, Giro y Palmas, es comnmente llamado afroperuano (festejo) de la zona de Ica-Lima (Per). Los participantes tratarn de evitar con cimbreantes movimientos de caderas que la pareja les queme con la vela la colita de tela o papel que llevan prendidas en sus traseros, alternndose para estos efectos el varn y la dama, al comps de los cajones peruanos y a las frases de quema!.. quema!.. qumala!... el alcatraz!... el alcatraz!

EL ALCATRAZ THE GANNET
