SUBJECT
FACULTY NAME: K. BALASUBRAMANIAN Course Aims & Objectives: To introduce the concepts, terminologies and technologies used in power plants, internal combustion engines and the refrigeration systems.
Unit Three Expose the students to basics of various power plants so that they will have the comprehensive idea of power system operation ii. Unit Four - Expose the students to basics of Engines, classification, working of four stroke and two stroke engines. iii. Unit Five - Expose the students to basics of Refrigeration system, terminology, working of different types of refrigeration systems. Teaching pattern: i.

Assessment Pattern:
Examination duration & Portion Covered: 50 min unit test after completion of one unit, covering First unit. 100 min cycle test after completion 2 units. 3 hrs mid term test after completion of 3 Units 50 min unit test after completion of fourth unit, covering Fourth unit. 3 hrs Model Exam in university pattern after completion of 5 units. Percentage distribution of marks for course work , examination, other: UT 1- 25 Marks , CT 1 60 Marks , MT- 60 Marks, UT 2 25 marks & Model Exam 100 Marks . (Attendance in regular classes 5 marks)
