Hosea 11:1-11 Cuando Israel era muchacho, yo lo amé, y de Egipto llamé a mi hijo.
2
Cuanto más yo los llamaba, tanto más se alejaban de mí; a los baales sacrificaban, y a los ídolos
ofrecían sahumerios.
3
Yo con todo eso enseñaba a andar al mismo Efraín, tomándole de los brazos; y no conoció que
yo le cuidaba.
4
Con cuerdas humanas los atraje, con cuerdas de amor; y fui para ellos como los que alzan el
yugo de sobre su cerviz, y puse delante de ellos la comida.
5
No volverá a tierra de Egipto, sino que el asirio mismo será su rey, porque no se quisieron
convertir.
6
Caerá espada sobre sus ciudades, y consumirá sus aldeas; las consumirá a causa de sus
propios consejos.
7
Entre tanto, mi pueblo está adherido a la rebelión contra mí; aunque me llaman el Altísimo,
ninguno absolutamente me quiere enaltecer.
8
¿Cómo podré abandonarte, oh Efraín? ¿Te entregaré yo, Israel? ¿Cómo podré yo hacerte como
Adma, o ponerte como a Zeboim? Mi corazón se conmueve dentro de mí, se inflama toda mi
compasión.
9
No ejecutaré el ardor de mi ira, ni volveré para destruir a Efraín; porque Dios soy, y no hombre, el
Santo en medio de ti; y no entraré en la ciudad.
10
En pos de Jehová caminarán; él rugirá como león; rugirá, y los hijos vendrán temblando desde el
occidente.
11
Como ave acudirán velozmente de Egipto, y de la tierra de Asiria como paloma; y los haré
habitar en sus casas, dice Jehová.

Cuanto más los llamaban los profetas, tanto más se alejaban de ellos; seguían sacrificando a los
Baales y quemando incienso a los ídolos.
3
Sin embargo yo enseñé a andar a Efraín, yo lo llevé en mis brazos; pero ellos no comprendieron
que yo los sanaba.
4
Con cuerdas humanas los conduje, con lazos de amor, y fui para ellos como quien alza el yugo
de sobre sus quijadas; me incliné y les di de comer.
5
No volverán a la tierra de Egipto, sino que Asiria será su rey, porque rehusaron volver a mí.
6
La espada girará contra sus ciudades, destruirá sus cerrojos y los consumirá por causa de sus
intrigas.
7
Pues mi pueblo se mantiene infiel contra mí; aunque ellos lo llaman para que se vuelva al
Altísimo, ninguno le exalta.
8
¿Cómo podré abandonarte, Efraín? ¿Cómo podré entregarte, Israel? ¿Cómo podré yo hacerte
como a Adma? ¿Cómo podré tratarte como a Zeboim? Mi corazón se conmueve dentro de mí, se
enciende toda mi compasión.
9
No ejecutaré el furor de mi ira; no volveré a destruir a Efraín. Porque yo soy Dios y no hombre, el
Santo en medio de ti, y no vendré con furor.
10
En pos del SEÑOR caminarán, Él rugirá como un león; ciertamente Él rugirá, y sus hijos vendrán
temblando desde el occidente.
11
De Egipto vendrán temblando como aves, y de la tierra de Asiria como palomas, y yo los
estableceré en sus casas -- declara el SEÑOR.

Pero cuanto más lo llamaba, más se alejaba de mí. Ofrecía sacrificios a sus falsos dioses y
quemaba incienso a las imágenes.
3
Yo fui quien enseñó a caminar a Efraín; yo fui quien lo tomó de la mano. Pero él no quiso
reconocer que era yo quien lo sanaba.
4
Lo atraje con cuerdas de ternura, lo atraje con lazos de amor. Le quité de la cerviz el yugo, y con
ternura me acerqué para alimentarlo.
5
»No volverán a Egipto, sino que Asiria reinará sobre ellos, porque no quisieron volverse a mí.

En sus ciudades se blandirán espadas, que destrozarán los barrotes de sus puertas y acabarán
con sus planes.
7
Mi pueblo está resuelto a renegar de mi nombre; por eso, aunque me invoquen, no los exaltaré.
8
»¿Cómo podría yo entregarte, Efraín? ¿Cómo podría abandonarte, Israel? ¡Yo no podría
entregarte como entregué a Admá! ¡Yo no podría abandonarte como a Zeboyín! Dentro de mí, el
corazón me da vuelcos, y se me conmueven las entrañas.

Pero no daré rienda suelta a mi ira, ni volveré a destruir a Efraín. Porque en medio de ti no está
un hombre, sino estoy yo, el Dios santo, y no atacaré la ciudad.»

El SEÑOR rugirá como león, y ellos lo seguirán. Cuando el SEÑOR lance su rugido, sus hijos
vendrán temblando de occidente.
11
«Vendrán desde Egipto, temblando como aves; vendrán desde Asiria, temblando como
palomas, y yo los estableceré en sus casas —afirma el SEÑOR—.

más lo llamaba, más se alejaba de mí y ofrecía sacrificios a las imágenes de Baal y quemaba
incienso a ídolos. 3 Yo mismo le enseñé a Israel a caminar, llevándolo de la mano; pero no sabe ni
le importa que fui yo quien lo cuidó. 4 Guie a Israel con mis cuerdas de ternura y de amor. Quité el

5 »Sin embargo, como mi pueblo se niega a regresar a mí, regresará a Egipto y será forzado a
servir a Asiria. 6 La guerra, como un torbellino, pasará por sus ciudades; los enemigos derribarán
sus puertas. Los destruirán, atrapándolos en sus propios planes malignos. 7 Pues mi pueblo está
decidido a abandonarme. Aunque me llaman el Altísimo, no me honran de verdad.
8 »Oh, Israel, ¿cómo podría abandonarte? ¿Cómo podría dejarte ir? ¿Cómo podría destruirte como
a Adma o demolerte como a Zeboim? Mi corazón está desgarrado dentro de mí y mi compasión se
desborda. 9 No, no desataré mi ira feroz. No destruiré por completo a Israel, ya que no soy un
simple mortal, soy Dios. Yo soy el Santo que vive entre ustedes y no vendré a destruir. 10 Pues
algún día la gente me seguirá. Yo, el Señor, rugiré como un león. Y cuando ruja, mi pueblo
regresará temblando del occidente. 11 Vendrán de Egipto como una bandada de aves. Regresarán
de Asiria temblando como palomas y los traeré de regreso a casa», dice el Señor.

As they called them, so they went from them: they sacrificed unto Baalim, and burned incense to
graven images.
3
I taught Ephraim also to go, taking them by their arms; but they knew not that I healed them.
4
I drew them with cords of a man, with bands of love: and I was to them as they that take off the
yoke on their jaws, and I laid meat unto them.
5
He shall not return into the land of Egypt, but the Assyrian shall be his king, because they refused
to return.
6
And the sword shall abide on his cities, and shall consume his branches, and devour them,
because of their own counsels.
7
And my people are bent to backsliding from me: though they called them to the most High, none
at all would exalt him.
8
How shall I give thee up, Ephraim? how shall I deliver thee, Israel? how shall I make thee as
Admah? how shall I set thee as Zeboim? mine heart is turned within me, my repentings are kindled
together.
9
I will not execute the fierceness of mine anger, I will not return to destroy Ephraim: for I am God,
and not man; the Holy One in the midst of thee: and I will not enter into the city.
10
They shall walk after the LORD: he shall roar like a lion: when he shall roar, then the children
shall tremble from the west.
11
They shall tremble as a bird out of Egypt, and as a dove out of the land of Assyria: and I will
place them in their houses, saith the LORD. (Hos. 11:1-11 KJV)

They will not return to the land of Egypt; But Assyria-- he will be their king, Because they refused
to return to Me.

And the sword will whirl against their cities, And will demolish their gate bars And consume them
because of their counsels.

So My people are bent on turning from Me. Though they call them to the One on high, None at all
exalts Him.
8
How can I give you up, O Ephraim? How can I surrender you, O Israel? How can I make you like
Admah? How can I treat you like Zeboiim? My heart is turned over within Me, All My compassions
are kindled.
9
I will not execute My fierce anger; I will not destroy Ephraim again. For I am God and not man, the
Holy One in your midst, And I will not come in wrath.
10
They will walk after the LORD, He will roar like a lion; Indeed He will roar, And His sons will come
trembling from the west.
11
They will come trembling like birds from Egypt, And like doves from the land of Assyria; And I will
settle them in their houses, declares the LORD.

They will come from Egypt, trembling like sparrows, from Assyria, fluttering like doves. I will settle
