Platinum Jubilee Queen Elizabeth II Gnome with Crown

Platinum Jubilee Queen Elizabeth II Gnome with Crown.

I crochet Gnome in continuous spiral rounds with crochet hook 2.25mm. and Purple, Cream, Yellow
Yellow, White DK Acrylic Yarns ( 295m. in 100g.)and Rico Creative Lame Silver Yarn (135m./25g.)
The Yarns in this pattern are just a suggestion. You can use your
favourite colours and Yarn. That’s why I am usually don’t indicate
manufacturers. Please be aware not to mix different manufacturers.
It is important to compare the strength and length of the used Yarn.
Using Yarn from a few manufacturers for one figure can lead to
wrong proportions.

- Use a stitch marker to mark the end or if you prefer the beginning
of each round.
- Make invisible decreases when using two front loops of st. for it.
- Work all the project using both loops of the stitch unless otherwise
noted.
- Some pictures may be presented with different colour of the Yarn
or are from my other projects.
Tip
Always change the color of yarn at the last step of the last stitch of the
previous color.

R 30. (2 sc., 1 dec) x 6. (18)

R 31. (1 sc., 1 dec) x 6. (12) add final stuffing.
R 32. (1 dec.) x 6. (6). Cut off yarn and close the hole with a tapestry needle, also with the tail I sew
on the arms to the body now or you can do it later.

Now we will make edge on bottom of the gnome body.

Keep the gnome body upside down. We will use FLO of R6., attach contrast or the same as body
color Yarn to random loop and and crochet 1sc. in each front loop till end of the round and join the
circle with needle invisibly.

INVISIBLE FINISH FOR OPEN EDGES IN TRADITIONAL CROCHET WAY.

Pull the loop on your hook to draw cut yarn tail up to the top. Now we are going to join it seamlessly
to the rest of the round. To do this, skip the next st., and insert your hook, going from front to back,
under both loops of the following stitch. Draw the yarn through to the back.

Now go back to your final stitch that has the yarn tail emerging from the middle of it. Insert your
hook down into this st., pull on the yarn tail to draw it smaller until the loop matches the size of all
the loops in top round of your piece.
Weave the yarn tail through the back of several st. of your piece and trim the remaining yarn tail.

Hair.
To make hair curly you’ll need White Yarn , an iron, 4-5mm. knitting needle or crochet hook 4-5mm.
Cut about 1m. long peace of yarn and wrap each around knitting needle or hook, after it steam it
with steam iron (on hot settings) for 15-20 second, let it cool down, gently take yarn from needles
and you will be ended with long curls.

Assembly.
— sew on the nose. Try on the hat first it will help to find proper position of the nose.

—Cut about 15cm. pieces of curly yarn, it is easier to attach longer yarn (hair) to the head and trim it
later. You will need about 5-6 pieces.
Attach it to the head one by one with a knot. refer to the pic. I used for it smaller hook 1.50 I find it
works better. To make the hair more secure you can make double knots on each piece of curls. Trim
hair where needed.

—put the hat on the gnome, add stuffing inside the hat. Stitch or glue on the hat to the head.

Make some finishing touches and your Gnome is ready.

Congratulations, you’ve completed your Gnome!

Warning: This is decorative item and not suitable for small children.
