Adult Learners' Week - He Tangata Mtauranga 2011


What is Adult Learners Week?

Adult Learners' Week/He Tangata Mtauranga is a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) initiative supported by the Tertiary Education Commission, adult and community education providers at a local level and the New Zealand National Commission for UNESCO. It was established in Aotearoa New Zealand in 1998 with the goal of raising the profile of adult learning. This year's celebration will be launched on Tuesday November 1 at Putiki Marae in Whanganui

ADULT LEARNERS WEEK /HE TANGATA MTAURANGA AWARDS


One of the highlights of the week for Counties ACE Network is the presentation of a range of awards.The awards recognise and celebrate the full variety of contributors to adult learning, including the learners, educators and providers. Awards for Outstanding Adult Learner, Exceptional Learner and Innovative Provider will be awarded at our Appreciation Awards evening, Wednesday 2nd November 2011. This years guests include Joris de Bres (Human Rights Commissioner), Catherine Delahunty (MPGreen Party) and Jo Lake (CEO ACE Aotearoa). We look forward to sharing our special event with these guests, our learners, our tutors and our community.
