Resolution means clarity of image. Window-->Show History option shows you the number of actions which u have performed on your file. U can do undo or redo also. Window-->Show Navigator option allows u to keep the zooming level of both the photos same. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------RECTANGULAR MARQUEE TOOL is used for selection of any image in rectangular shape. ELLIPTICAL MARQUEE TOOL is used for selection of any image in elliptical shape. SINGLE ROW MARQUEE Tool is used to select the single row from the image. SINGLE COLUMN MARQUEE Tool is used to select the single column from the image. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------MAGIC WAND TOOL is used to select the range of color from whole the image. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------LASSO TOOL is used for selection. It has 3 sub tools. A) Lasso Tool -->U have to hold down left mouse button & then click & drag. b) Polygonal Lasso Too-->U have to go on clicking the points. It will join those points. c) Magnetic Lasso Tool -->U have to just mention the first point & then just move the mouse. It will go on selecting that shape. It is easy to operate. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------CROP TOOL is used to remove the unnecessary part of the image.

SLICE TOOL
First open one photo. Take slice tool & make the slices of the photo. Then say File-->Save for Web. Click on OK & give the filename & save the file wherever u want (e.g. Desktop) Now minimize Photoshop. Open the same file which u have saved. Now right click on that photo & say Set as Background/Wallpaper. Minimize all the windows. U will see that only the particular part (slice) is copied on desktop & not the whole photo. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

BRUSH TOOLS is used for painting or drawing.

CLONE STAMP TOOL

Take one photo. Then take clone stamp tool & press Alt + Left Click. Now say File-->new & click & drag. That photo will be copied in desired shape which u wants. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

PATTERN STAMP TOOL

Take one photo. Then select some part of the photo with rectangular marquee tool. Then say Edit-->Define pattern. Give the name to the pattern. Say File-->New Take Pattern Stamp tool & click & drag to show that selected part in tiled effect. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ERASER TOOL takes the background color. BACKGROUND ERASER TOOL makes the background
transparent slowly.

MAGIC ERASER TOOL makes the background transparent

quickly. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------GRADIENT TOOL is used to show more than one color. If u want to prepare your own shades (gradient) then double click on the colors, which is on option box. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DODGE TOOL is used to brighten the image. BURN TOOL is used to darken the image. SPONGE TOOL
A) DESATURATE option allows u remove the colors (Black & white) B) SATURATE option will bring back the colors. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------TYPE TOOL is used for writing. In Type tool new layer is added automatically & color also comes which is in foreground color box. In TYPE MASK TOOL we have to take the new layer & then write the text & then click on any other tool & after that u can fill gradient effect also. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Thumbnail comes at the left side of the layer name in which it shows small preview of the contents of the layer.

PEN TOOL is used for drawing.

In Freeform Pen Tool, u have to hold down left mouse button to draw the shape. Convert Point tool is used to change the shape. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------COLOR SAMPLER TOOL is used to select the 4 colors at a time & u can prepare that color by saying Window-->Show color & putting the values in RGB boxes.

EDIT MENU
COPY MERGED
Option allows u to copy the selected part from all the layers.

PASTE INTO
Open one photo. Select some part of the photo. (Selection of photo should be bigger than the size of the text) Then says Edit copy Now take a new file. Take Type Mask tool & write some text & click on any other tool, u will get moving lines. Then say Edit->Paste Into.

STROKE
Stroke means borders. Open one photo. Click & drag that photo into the new file. Select Layer 1 & select the edges (borders) of the photo with rectangular marquee tool & then say EDIT-->STROKE

CUBE EFFECT
Take 3 photos. Take a new file. Click & drag 3 photos into new file one after the other with the help of move tool. Keep the size of all the 3 photos same by selecting that particular layer & then press Ctrl + T (Edit-->Free Transform). Keep the photos like this:

Then select those photos, which at the top by selecting that particular layer & say Edit-->Transform-->skew/Distort & click & drag the point to give the skew effect. Now select that layer (photo) which is at the right bottom & say Edit-->Transform-->skew/Transform

DEFINE BRUSH
It allows u to create your own brush. Take one photo. Then say Edit-->Define Brush. Give the name to the brush. Say file-->New. Take brush tool & select your own brush & click & drag. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

IMAGE MENU
APPLY IMAGE

Open 2 photos. Keep the size as well as the zooming level of both the photos same. Then say IMAGE-->APPLY IMAGE. Select the name of the other file from the source box. Select any blending (e.g. Normal) & then reduce the opacity. Click on Ok.

CALCULATIONS
Same steps like IMAGE-->APPLY IMAGE. Only It gives the output in Black & white.

TRIM

It will remove the extra canvas.

EXTRACT
TAKE one photo. Say IMAGE-->EXTRACT. Select some part of the image with edge highlighter tool & then fill the color in the selected part with the help of fill color tool. Click on Preview. Click on Ok.

LIQIFY
It allows u to give the different funny shapes to the image.

HISTOGRAM
It gives the info about the file (e.g. No of pixels) -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

LAYER MENU
In any image the background layer appears at last (below) in the list of layers. LAYER VIA COPY
Take one photo. Take the duplicate layer of the background layer. Now delete the background layer. Select some part of the photo with lasso tool & then say LAYER-->LAYER VIA COPY. After doing this, the selected part will be copied on a new layer.

LAYER VIA CUT

Same thing like LAYER-->LAYER VIA COPY, only the selected part will be deleted & will be pasted to a new layer.

LAYER PROPERTIES
It is used to make the changes in the selected layer (e.g. Name of the layer)

NEW-->LAYER FROM BACKGROUND

It will add background layer if it is not present & it will take background color.

NEW FILL LAYER-->SOLID COLOR/GRADIENT/PATTERN

Take one photo. Then say LAYER-->NEW FILL LAYER-->SOLID COLOR. Click on Ok & reduce the opacity of that layer.

ADD LAYER MASK-->REVEAL ALL

Take 2 photos. Click & drag the 2nd photo into the first photo. Then say LAYER-->ADD LAYER MASK-->REVEAL ALL (Note that foreground color should be black & background color should be white) Now take Airbrush tool & remove the unnecessary part of the image (e.g. grass). Then say LAYER -->REMOVE LAYER MASK APPLY.

ADD LAYER MASK-->HIDE ALL

It steps like Reveal All only the condition is opposite. ((Note that foreground color should be white & background color should be black)

ADD LAYER MASK-->REVEAL SELECTION

Take 2 photos. Click & drag the 2nd photo into 1st photo. Then select any color with the help of magic wand tool. Then say LAYER-->ADD LAYER MASK--> REVEAL SELECTION.

ADD LAYER MASK-->HIDE SELECTION

Same steps like Reveal Selection. Here selection will not be visible.

GROUP WITH PREVIOUS

Open a new file. Write some text with the help of Type Mask Tool. Then click on any other tool & fill any color. Press Ctrl + D. Now open one photo & click & drag this photo into your file with the help of move tool. Then say LAYER-->GROUP WITH PREVIOUS (Ctrl + G).That photo will be visible only inside the text.

ARRANGE
It is used to change the position of the selected layer in the layer list.

For ALIGN LINKED at least 2 layers should be linked with each other & for DISTRIBUTE LINKED at least 3 layers should be linked with each other. MERGE VISIBLE OPTION WILL MERGE THE VISIBLE LAYERS ONLY. FLATTEN IMAGE WILL ALSO MERGE THE VISIBLE LAYERS BUT BY DELETING THE HIDDEN LAYERS IF ANY. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SELECT MENU
INVERSE
Open one photo. Select some part (color) of the photo. Then say SELECT-->INVERSE Now say Image-->Adjust-->Desaturate Finally press Ctrl + D. After doing this except the selected part, the entire image will become black & white.

MODIFY-->BORDER
Open one photo. Click & drag that photo into a new file. Select layer 1 of a new file & select the edges of the photo with rectangular marquee tool. Now say SELECT-->MODIFY-->BORDER Take gradient tool & fill it in that border. Finally press Ctrl + D.

TRANSFORM SELECTION
It is used to increase or decrease the selection as per your need.

GROW
Open one photo. Select some color with magic wand tool. Then say Select-->grow. It will select the surrounding areas of the selected part.

SIMILAR
It will select the similar shades from the whole image.

U can select the particular part of the image which u want & then say SAVE SELECTION. Give the name to your selection. Then Save the file by giving the filename. Whenever u want u can take that selection again by saying LOAD SELECTION.
