Rubric: Childrens Story

The purpose of this project is to practice writing and reading AR verbs, any vocabulary we have learned in the course, and reading and writing questions and answers in Spanish. Requirements and Timeline: Each student writes 20 sentences or questions. (a mixture of both). In the writing students use a minimum of 10 different verbs and underline those verbs. Day 1: EACH STUDENT writes 20 sentences using their lists of regular ar, er, and ir verbs, as well as any vocabulary we have learned in the course so far. Students will have approximately 30 minutes in class and be expected to turn in their sentences at the end of that time/ the next day. Day 2: Students correct sentences/questions. Students form partnerships and decide which group of sentences (which story) they will use for the final product. Students make a list of duties and turn in their sentences and list at the end of the period. Day 3: Students work on the artwork for their story. They can either have one large picture with lots of things going on (like a Wheres Waldo picture), or they can have a comic strip, or they can have a series of many different pictures that go with the story (like a book). Day 4: Students turn in final project and present their summary. Required Components: A minimum of 20 Sentences using regular verbs (EVERY INDIVIDUAL STUDENT) A minimum of 10 Different Verbs used in the sentences A main character to the story Multiple drawings and illustrations, or one intricate drawing or illustration Rough Draft Final Draft A presentation to the class about your story. (will have time in class)

Writing has some elements of organization, but is difficult to follow. It is lacking an overall storyline and flow. There are 4 or more grammatical errors in the writing. Used some of the time well during each class period. There was some focus on getting the project done but occasionally distracted others. The illustration and layout is acceptably attractive though it may be a bit messy.
