The HP Compaq nx7000 offers three USB 2.0 ports, the newest and fastest technology for connecting peripheral devices such as printers, scanners, external hard drives, digital cameras, video players, speakers, keyboards, and more. Working at speeds up to 480 Mbps, the new USB 2.0 technology transfers data 40 times faster than the older USB 1.1 standard and even outperforms the 400 Mbps throughput of IEEE 1394 connections (sometimes known as FireWire).
