ASSESSMENT: Reflection & Portfolio
WEIGHTING: 50% of Final Grade

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. You are required to keep a portfolio (or learning diary) of experiences, insights
and achievements made in the course of this subject and relevant to yourself. The
portfolio must provide evidence of your growing awareness of leadership and its
implications to yourself and to the world in which you live. The final portfolio
you submit must include at least:
a. A summary of each entry in your journal for each week of the course: 10
entries minimum.
b. A statement on how you shared responsibility in understanding leadership
concepts, how leadership influences the individual, the organisation, and
society and what approaches you used to actively facilitate the process of
learning for yourself and others taking this subject.
c. Your personal development planning process which includes;
i. Life’s Dreams Exercise;
ii. Balanced Goal Setting Exercise;
iii. Life Story Exercise;
iv. Leadership Steps Assessment;
v. A short reflection comparing your personal development over the
duration of the paper.
d. Completed Workbook Self Assessments and Homework Exercises.

e. Any other relevant material that you would like to submit that could
demonstrate your learning and understanding of leadership
2 Presentation: The portfolio may be presented in a variety of ways:
• If you write the portfolio it is to be professionally presented in 12 font Arial,
1.5 spacing using correct spelling and syntax.
• If you present the portfolio in a seminar, on tape or video, or DVD, the length
is not to exceed 45 minutes.
• If you want to present the portfolio in another way please contact me first.
• A 10% penalty if the portfolio does not meet any of the presentation
requirements.
3 A written Reference Section must be included in your portfolio, using the APA
referencing method..
4 Please refer to the Student Handbook regarding the late assignment policy.
