CAREER SUMMARY
I am an achievement oriented professional with project management experience within
the Space, Telecommunications and IT sectors. The foundation of my career is a sound
understanding of telecommunication networks, information technology and a broad
knowledge of Business.

My interpersonal skills, attention to detail and ability to work effectively within diverse
environments, particularly those requiring strong communication skills and responding to

Position: Skynet5 Management Segment – Project Manager
For this high profile £40M Project I am responsible for ensuring the software
development is undertaken in a controlled phased approach, I manage sub-systems,
track issues and where necessary approve Change Requests and Requests For
Deviations.
I report on a regular basis to an External customer, regularly chairing Project Review
Boards, the Project team I lead comprises a QA Manager, Test Team Manager and a
Configuration Control specialist.

Period: May 2004 – Mar 2005
Position: Product Release-Gold Copy Project manager
To ensure the smooth transition of the DHL IT Organisation to Prague, it was necessary
to ensure the continued rollout of Enhancements, Bug Fixes and new Programs into the
“Live Environment” had been subjected to the appropriate levels of quality control and
technical testing.
As part of this transition, my role primarily focused on managing work streams of
consolidated periodical changes to the IT infrastructure, I ensured the appropriate
resources had been assigned and designed work packages to ensure all changes were
“Released to Production” in a controlled and managed environment.
I was also been responsible for the establishment of detailed QA processes, which have
been adopted by the Business globally.

My key responsibilities were to devise, record, plan and monitor all the Integration Test
activities required to achieve client confidence in the supplied services. I utilized Prince 2,
RUP and Best Practice Management tools to Plan and Disseminate Project Information in
a timely and targeted approach, ensuring stakeholder buy in and transparent project
reporting.

Client: Network Rail, Highways Authority, And Bulgarian
Rail.
As a customer facing Project Manager I was responsible for garnishing requirements from
the client, converting them into work packages to form discrete Projects with identifiable
objectives and targets, I hosted inter-departmental Project Workshops to ensure co-
operation and unified approaches throughout the life-cycle of each project was achieved.
I reported directly to the Technical and Managing Directors, responsible for a budget of
£12M, I maintained an issue and risk assessment log, undertaking contingency planning
for all unforeseen eventualities.
I also issued periodical Highlight reports and escalated issues via Exception reports where
no tangible solutions were apparent; Next Stage reports were also an artefact of my role
ensuring ongoing visibility of planned activities and deadlines.

Position: Project Manager
Client: Worldcom, BT, Premium TV.
As Project Manager I was the key interface between the supplier and the business and
was responsible for ordering £28M of Equipment I ensured delivery lead times were met.
I was heavily involved during the project start up phase and successfully negotiated with
the supplier to ensure that 400 man-days of training were supplied free.
I was responsible for identifying the internal and external technical resources required to
fulfil this network infrastructure upgrade, ensuring the resource budget of £14M was
spent prudently and resulted in value added benefits to the organisation.
I ensured that activities and equipment subjected to the Change Management process
were implemented.

Responsible for Project Managing simultaneous worldwide Network Rollouts up to £6M+
(SDH / SONET / VPN / Advanced Optical, ATM, ISDN30, INM, NMC. SH, RM)
Managing geographically, dispersed cross-functional technical teams 20+, Co-
coordinating, Test Strategies, Software Updates, Network Migrations and Upgrades.
Produce Gantt Charts (MS Projects) Updating and reporting on progress regularly.

Position: Consultant Commissioning Engineer
I was employed by the Organisations detailed above, as a senior commissioning engineer,
I was responsible for, conducting standalone, link and network testing on STM16 SDH/
PDH, 2nd generation mobile PCS networks and Broadband cable TV Networks.
Responsible for safekeeping of high value rented test equipment and tools, maintaining
site logs, completing test result sheets and fault reports. Conducting fault finding and
rectification activities in sites and networks throughout the UK, able to work on own
initiative and have the ability to be a team player to ensure co-coordinated integration
activities.

Position: Systems Engineer
As a Weapons Engineer specialized in Radio Communications, I underwent intensive
theoretical and practical technical training. I gained a broad knowledge of Electronic
Principles and was trained in the practical aspects of faultfinding on complex electronic
equipment including; but not limited to: Radar (primary and secondary), Sonar (active
and Passive), Navigational Systems, Communication Systems, MF-Microwave, including
satellite.
