GBM Presentation Tuesday, September 27, 2011

Held on April 27, 2011 Purpose:


to foster community pride;

to work with membership to identify and raise awareness of


the Strengths present within our community; and

to determine what we have to work with to make our community stronger into the future.

Our identity is one of our strongest characteristics.

Family, seasonal rounds, land base, stewardship, language and

traditions.

Comfort level is strong.

Infrastructure (water, sewer, roads, etc.), sense of well-being,


safety, employment, education, band assets, community pride.

Many sources of pride.

Available services, business savvy, progressive band, welcoming environment, traditional knowledge..many others.

Purpose:

to identify internal and external forces that affect our everyday life;

to recognize positives and negatives inside and outside of the community; and

to develop a full awareness of our situation to plan effectively


and strategically.

Strengths: Things within the community that are good for the community now. Weaknesses: Things within the community that are bad for the community now. Opportunities: Things that are good for the future.

Threats: Things that are bad for the future.
