HONOR CODE

The Fulbright Commission English Teaching Program (ETP) upholds the highest academic and personal integrity standards.
NOTE: The honor code provides general guidelines for conduct. However, any conduct detrimental to the institution and/or staff and
instructors will be subject to an Honor Board even if this conduct is not explicitly stated in the Honor Code.

1) Academic: Students are responsible for complying with the requirements of each course. Copying, plagiarizing, using translation
programs, using existing and/or old exams, quizzes, and/or any other assignments from previous classes, giving or receiving any
unapproved assistance, and/or not properly citing information that has been written, typed, spoken, transmitted, and/or read by
another individual(s) constitute cheating. Students who cheat will automatically fail their current level and will not be able to finish the
cycle. They will also be suspended from the program for two subsequent cycles. Students who cheat twice will ultimately be expelled for
life from the ETP.

2) Personal Integrity and conduct: The following actions are considered personal integrity and conduct violations and will be subject to
an Honor Board.
A) Students who threaten or engage in violence. (either physical or mental)
B) Students who sexually harass colleagues, instructors, or staff in any manner.
C) Students who bully instructors, other students, or Fulbright Commission staff.
D) Students who share class materials with students who are not in their class. This includes class links, assignments, presentations,
exams, and quizzes.
E) Students who engage in rude or disrespectful behavior with instructors, coordinators, or Fulbright Commission staff. This includes
messages and comments in social media, phone calls, emails and conduct in meetings.
F) Students who indulge in alcohol or substance abuse prior to attending or during ETP classroom activities.
G) Students who are involved in any other action that alters harmonic and peaceful coexistence at the ETP. This includes a disruptive or
disrespectful environment which may alter class atmosphere.

The Honor Board can determine at least one of the following punishments: a) automatic failure of their current cycle; b) suspension
from the ETP for two subsequent cycles; c) expulsion for life from the ETP.

In addition, students who are suspended twice, for any of the reasons mentioned in the sections above, will be expelled from the ETP
for life.

In signing this Honor Code, I am confirming that I have read it, that I have understood the consequences and sanctions involved if any of the
principles above are violated, and I confirm that I will adhere to the Fulbright English Teaching Program Honor Code, which applies to my actions
and to those of my fellow classmates. I also confirm that I will adhere to the specifications of my Class Syllabus and to the specifications described in
the “Welcome to Fulbright Handout,” which outline the policies of the Fulbright English Teaching Program.

CÓDIGO DE HONOR

El programa de enseñanza de inglés (ETP, por sus siglas en inglés) de la Comisión Fulbright mantiene los más altos estándares
académicos y de integridad personal.
NOTA: El código de honor proporciona pautas generales de conducta. Sin embargo, cualquier conducta perjudicial para la institución
y/o el personal e instructores estará sujeto a una Junta de Honor, incluso si esta conducta no está explícitamente establecida en el
Código de Honor.

1) Académico: Los estudiantes son responsables de cumplir con los requisitos de cada curso. La copia, el plagio, la utilización de
programas de traducción, la utilización de exámenes, pruebas existentes y/o antiguas y/o cualquier tarea de clases pasadas; y/o no citar
de manera apropiada información que haya sido escrita, escrita a máquina, hablada, transmitida y/o leída por otro(s) individuo(s)
constituyen fraude. Los estudiantes que cometan fraude reprobarán automáticamente su nivel actual sin poder terminar el ciclo de
clases y serán suspendidos del programa por dos ciclos subsecuentes. Los estudiantes que cometan fraude dos veces serán finalmente
expulsados de por vida del ETP.

2) Integridad personal y conducta: Las siguientes acciones se consideran violaciones a la integridad personal y a la conducta y estarán
sujetas a una Junta de Honor.

A) Estudiantes que amenacen o se involucren en actos de violencia. (Sea esta física o mental)

B) Estudiantes que acosen sexualmente o de cualquier manera a sus colegas, instructores o personal de la institución.

C) Estudiantes que hagan bullying a instructores, a otros estudiantes o al personal de la Comisión Fulbright.

D) Los estudiantes que compartan material de la clase con estudiantes que no estén en su clase. Esto incluye links de clase, tareas,
presentaciones, exámenes y pruebas.

E) Estudiantes que se comporten de manera descortez o irrespetuosa con los instructores, coordinadores o el personal de la Comisión
Fulbright. Esto incluye mensajes y comentarios en redes sociales, llamadas telefónicas, correos electrónicos y conducta en reuniones.

F) Estudiantes que abusen del alcohol o de sustancias antes de asistir o durante las actividades de la clase del ETP.

G) Estudiantes que se involucren en cualquier otra acción que altere la convivencia armónica y pacífica en el ETP. Esto incluye un
ambiente perturbador o irrespetuoso que pueda alterar la atmósfera de la clase.

La Junta de Honor puede determinar al menos una de las siguientes penalizaciones: a) reprobación automática de su nivel actual; b)
suspensión del ETP por dos ciclos subsecuentes; c) expulsión de por vida del ETP.

Adicionalmente, los estudiantes que son suspendidos dos veces por cualquiera de las razones mencionadas en las dos secciones
anteriores, serán expulsados de por vida del ETP.

Al firmar este Código de Honor, yo estoy confirmando que lo he leído, que he entendido las consecuencias y sanciones envueltas si cualquiera de los
principios mencionados anteriormente son violados; y confirmo que acataré el Código de Honor del Programa de Enseñanza de Inglés de Fulbright, el
cual se aplica a mis acciones y a las acciones de mis compañeros de clase. También confirmo que acataré las especificaciones del Plan de Estudios de
mi clase (Class Syllabus) y las especificaciones descritas en el folleto “Welcome to Fulbright Handout,” los cuales indican los reglamentos del
Programa de Enseñanza de Inglés de Fulbright.
