años. Según unos pequeños fragmentos de roca hallados en Texas, el asteroide
golpeó con tanta fuerza que vaporizó un grueso lecho de rocas que había
debajo, arrojando gas junto a una cortina de fragmentos rocosos que salieron
despedidos de la superficie. La temperatura se elevó a unos 155 grados

killed the dinosaurs about 66 million years ago. According to small rock
fragments found in Texas, the asteroid struck with such force that it vaporized
a thick bedrock below, spewing gas along with a curtain of rock fragments that
were ejected from the surface. The temperature rose to about 155 degrees
Celsius, bringing the area of devastation to more than 1,000 miles from the
crater center in minutes.
