I think this is how you teach about Personal Responsibility.. Guys remember this If you abort/use contraceptives. You never know how far that will reach. For all you know the baby you just aborted could have been the next president or government official. Yes!And man propelled of his being hedonistic prefers for what is comfortable, for what is convenient and what is pleasurable. Man cannot do away from it for it is in his nature.That man in choosing is always motivated by comfort, convenience and pleasurable. To be a man and a woman for instance is God's design in accordance with His Natural and eternal law. Changing this very nature via transplantation is a choice but judging whether or not it is moral, is nobody's business but God. Tubal ligation is a choice, and whether it is moral or immoral is as well not man's business to judge but God. Man's physical appearance/look may as well be according to God's design. But there are a lot of cases where physical looks are enhance via "Salamat doc". Enhancing is a choice also by the one concern. However as St. Thomas Aquinas strongly emphasized natural and eternal law, there are times that when this law is violated consequence is often worst, thus, the so called buttocks enhancement complications or breast enhancement complications. Well, the Church if misunderstood as judging is not judging but doing its role, not only role but moral duty to teach esp. on matters of faith and morals. Following or not following the Church's teachings is a choice. No one from within the Church is forcing anybody to do or not to do the teachings. So that when the Church is saying that on cases of tubal ligation, the only considerable case is that when ligated as the only means to save the woman, is a teaching. Again, to follow or not follow is a choice. One thing certain, in contrast to Satan, Jesus Christ was not and is not promising nor offering comfort but sacrifice. "Do birth spacing/family planning thru constant talking between man and woman applying abstinence which is a bit of sacrifice (love-motivated)", "Do birth spacing/family planning thru the use of contraceptives which is very convenient and comfortable and yet not pleasure-suspending (____motivated)." Well this is a cheap shot. The kind of argument made by men in skirts and funny hats sequestered in Intramuros. The kind of argument made by oldies, who, because of their chosen profession, have (officially) sworn off having marital relations and children. Again, let me reiterate, the RH bill and sex videos? WTF?!?!?!? The Reproductive Health bill has been languishing in the halls of legislature since the 11 Congress, long before the proliferation of sex videos in the Philippines. It is the product of the countrys efforts to advance the Programme of Action of the Cairo International Conference on Population and Development in 1994. It is the culmination of almost two decades worth of work by in advancing the well-being of mothers among many other issues. ICPD principles include: integration of population into sustainable development policies and programs, poverty eradication, access to reproductive healthcare and family planning, role of the family, right to education, situation of children, rights of migrants and refugees, population and development needs of indigenous people and the affirmation that humans are at the center of sustainable development. So, no. I dont see sex video scandals programmed in there. Excuse me if I take offense to this particular argument: And with the RH bill, matters relative to sex, pregnancy, population, morality are but effectively relaxed. Once the bill becomes law, we are introduced to a regime that allows the flood of information and full access to a widening variety of natural or modern family planning methods. And logically, the filming of sex videos in infinite number will form part of the territory.

Now what does provision of reproductive health services have anything to do with filming sex videos? And what is this emerging moral order Primer Pagunuran speaks of? If you want to ban the proliferation of sex videos, maybe we should ban the internet too? Hell, why stop there! Ban magazines with lewd photos! Ban all the billboards on EDSA! All these stimulants are just too much to resist! It makes us sex-starved maniacs justitching to fornicate AND video such acts AND distribute them online! OH! And condoms, pills and IUDs just make the filming of these videos so much easier because then nobody will get pregnant! Or, god forbid, contract AIDS! Contrary to claim, RH bill shakes the moral foundation of the family under the guise of having empowered individuals to choose the course or decisions they wish to carry out. How can providing families the means to space child-birth shake the moral foundation of the family? Does not having 11 children to feed shake familial foundations just as well? That is, not having enough to feed all of them? Not having enough to care for each child? Not having enough to provide them proper education? RH bill may in fact encourage individuals the vicious use of contraceptives under the guise that these are essential medicines. In case this writer didnt know, more than a third of married Filipinas of reproductive age already use one form of family planning method or the other (National Demographic Health Survey 2003). The other three-fourths would too, if they had a choice to purchase them instead of allocating their meager resources in favor of food and shelter. And the reason why FP commodities have been included in the national formulary is so there will be budget allocation for them year in year out. The two-child policy enshrined in the RH bill is simply normative and therefore the State is yet to come up with a zero population control strategy if it aims to really control population as the precondition to effectively resolve the problem of mass poverty. Please read the house and senate bills linked below. There is NO two-child policy. And the bill does not primarily aim to control population growth. We are not China. This is still a democratic country, and the spirit of the bill trusts that rational thinking families will behave rationally with regard to family planning. So, no draconian measures there. It simply aims to provide family planning services, free, for those have need of them. From where I stand, the RH bill is only intended to break the old moral order. Dont you mean patriarchal order? The bottom line for the church and the moral order they idealize is based on a morlaity that takes the fun and the pleasure out of sex. To them, sex is permissible only when it is for procreation not gor its own sake. Those moral guardians want to create a world without fun sex, for everyone else.

By your admission caffeine, this bill has languished since the 11th Congress or more correctly sent to the archives. In other words, it has been laid on the table or killed using legislative parlance. So effectively, it has spanned 3 to 4 Congresses already. It then becomes logical to believe that perhaps, the then prevailing moral order resisted it. Since there are signs that it may pass in this 14th Congress, by the same token, maybe, there is an emerging moral order receptive of it now. Now you win those points. Contrary to your own claim, something in the bill already laid the predicate for a two-child policy to be legislated later. Or, go over Section 6 of the bill, if I remember right. I have very little urge to have to respond to your blog because it is in me in the unflattering limelight as you did another time ago, to which, you did not hear any response from me. Since it is fast becoming vogue here, to blog back to back then by all means, suit ourselves. Please dont sound that only you can read a lousy bill.
