As we can observe, we can do it in a more polite way (formal) or more

informally (inforrmal). Generally, when addressing to unknown people we
recommend to use the formal way.

Apart from that, to catch people attention we will used “excuse me”, instead of
the literal spanish translation that would be “sorry” (disculpa, perdona).

Para dar instrucciones a alguien para ir a un sitio concreto, generalmente

utilizaremos construcciones como las siguientes:
 Turn left – Gire a la izquierda
Go straight on/ahead – Vaya recto

Turn right – Gire a la derecha

Go across the street – Cruce la calle

Take the 1 st/2 nd/3 rd turning on the left

Take the 1 st/2 nd/3 rd turning on the Tome la 1ª/2ª/3ª calle a la izquierda

Go past the – Pase por delante de
