Históricamente, Gran Bretaña es un país de inmigrantes. los romanos, sajones, vikingos y

normandos invadieron gran Bretaña en diferentes momentos en el pasado y luego se
quedaron. Hoy en día, gran Bretaña es una sociedad multicultural de personas de todo el
mundo. muchos jóvenes son inmigrantes de segunda o tercera generación y tienen dos o más
identidades culturales. mi familia es un buen ejemplo de esto: mi abuelo nació en Jamaica,
pero emigró a gran Bretaña en 1950 como muchas personas del caribe, india y Pakistán, se fue
a gran Bretaña después de la segunda guerra mundial para ayudar a reconstruir la economía
británica.

Fue extremadamente difícil para mi abuelo cuando llegó a Gran Bretaña. en Jamaica, la gente
habla inglés, pero su acento y algunas de sus expresiones son muy diferentes, por lo que la
gente en gran Bretaña no siempre lo entendió. él conoció a mi abuela y se enamoró. mi abuela
era blanca y sus padres no lo aceptaron al principio.

Poco después de su matrimonio, mis padres se mudaron a Estados Unidos. donde nace. como

Las identidades culturales jamaicana, india, británica y estadounidense son bastante

diferentes. por ejemplo, la cultura india es bastante formal, pero la cultura jamaicana es más
relajada. La comida y las religiones en estas dos culturas también son muy diferentes. por
ejemplo, mi madre es cristiana y mi padre es hindú. Además, la cultura estadounidense es muy
informal, mientras que la británica es bastante formal. a veces ser arte de cuatro culturas
diferentes es bastante confuso. No estoy seguro de lo que soy, pero, en general, creo que soy
bastante afortunado porque puedo experimentar el "mejor de todos los mundos", y eso me
hace bastante especial.

invaded britain at different times in the past and then stayed. Today britain is a multicultural
society of people from all over the world. many young people are socond or third generation
immigrants and have two or more cultural identities. my famyli is a good example of this: My
grandfather was born in jamaica,but he emigrated to britain in 1950 like many peolple from
the caribbean,india,and pakistan,he went to britain after the second world war to help rebuild
the british economy.

it was extremely difficult for my grandfather wen he arrived in britain. in jamaica,people speak
english,but their accent and some of their expression are very different,so people in britain
didn´t always understand him. them he met my grandmother and fell in love.my grandmother
was white, and her parents didn´t accept him at first.

they got married and had a daughter,my mother. my mother later married an indian, my
father.shortly after their marriage,my parents moved to the us . where is wa born. so as you
can see, i am a mix of four different cultures!
jamaican,indian,british,and american cultural identities are quite different.for wxample, indian
culture is rather formal, but jamaican culture is more relaxed.the food and religions in these
two cultures are also very different. for example,my mother is christian,and my father is
hindu.futhermore,american culture is very informal, whereas british culture is quite formal.
sometimes being art of four different cultures is quite confusing. im not sure what i am but, in
general, i think im pretty lucky because im able to experience the ´´best of all worlds,´´and that
makes me rather special.
