it was extremely difficult for my grandfather wen he arrived in britain. in jamaica, people speak
english, but their accent and some of their expression are very different,so people in britain
didn´t always understand him. them he met my grandmother and fell in love.my grandmother
was white, and her parents didn´t accept him at first.
they got married and had a daughter,my mother. my mother later married an indian, my
father.shortly after their marriage,my parents moved to the us . where is wa born. so as you
can see, i am a mix of four different cultures!
jamaican, indian, british, and american cultural identities are quite different.for wxample, indian
culture is rather formal, but jamaican culture is more relaxed.the food and religions in these
two cultures are also very different. for example,my mother is christian, and my father is
hindu.futhermore, american culture is very informal, whereas british culture is quite formal.
sometimes being art of four different cultures is quite confusing. im not sure what i am but, in
general, i think im pretty lucky because im able to experience the ´´best of all worlds,´´and that
makes me rather special.
