Mi padre me

premios Music Video Awards y MTV Latino.

talla mundial y admiro mucho Jennifer López.

I am Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll I was born on February 2, 1977 I am currently 46 years old, I
was born in Barranquilla, in the south of Colombia, the predominant language is Spanish and I am
from a region of the country where it is characterized by being fast and using the tuteo
predominantly in conversations.

I currently live in Spain in Esplugues de Llobregat with my 3 children Milan Pique Mebarak and
Sasha Pique Mebarak, my treasures are the fruit of love with my husband Gerard Pique. Some
hobbies and interests are, is surfing on the beaches of Spain, also keeping balance at high speed
on the skateboard, it helps me to free my mind and my emotions, a hobby that very few know
about me is linked to history, I decided to study ancient philosophy, I just graduated from a course
in Ancient Philosophy.

My father, William Mebarak, born in the United States but of Arab origin, was a jeweler but
worked with the local newspaper. The sight I had in front of the typewriter awakened in me the
desire to do so as well, I learned to read at age three and wrote poetry at age four. My father
encouraged me to transcribe my thoughts and emotions onto paper, and so, almost playfully, I
developed an ability to write songs.

At the age of four, I first heard the dumbek or derbake, the drum that accompanies belly dancing
in an Arab restaurant in Barranquilla. There were two dancers and one of them asked me to dance
and taught me a few steps. And from that day on, I started belly dancing all the time in my room,
in the park, at family gatherings and even in front of the nuns at school. I also started singing since
I was very young, but everyone said that my voice was powerful and with a strong vibrato, so I was
allowed to sing solo parts in the choir.

That is to say that by that time my two greatest talents, as a composer, dancer and singer, were
combined. When I was eight years old, my father made a mistake with the jewelry and had to
close them, so I wrote "Tus lentes oscuros", a song about the sunglasses that hide my father's
tears. And I sang songs at different events of the time, but also every Friday I danced the Friday
dance at the Catholic school, with the consent of the nuns. In 1988 I participated in the contest
Looking Artist Kids, which was broadcast on the Colombian channel Telecaribe, and won the first
prize which was a bicycle and fifty dollars.

Before my thirteenth birthday, I was heard by some executives of Sony Colombia singing a capella

did not manage to record the third album.

When I was fifteen years old, I represented Colombia in the Viña del Mar Festival in Chile,
obtaining the third place with the song "Tú". After taking some time to finish high school, I was
summoned by Sony in 1995 to record my third album, Pies descalzos, which was released in Latin
America thanks to hits such as "Estoy aquí", "Pies descalzos, sueños blancos" and "Donde eres tu
corazón". The album sold more than four million copies and shortly after the remix version that I
managed to release sold another 500,000 units.

With this, he managed to attract the attention of the biggest Latin record producer in the world,
Emilio Estefan, who produced his fourth album titled "Dónde están los ladrones", released in 1998.
This album had repercussions not only in Latin America, but was sold in France, Switzerland,
Canada and especially in America. Eight of the eleven songs of this production were singles, among
te vas", "Octavo día" and the most successful and of course the one I liked the most "Ojos Asi",
and for the following years I dedicated myself to learn English so I could compose in that language.
With the help of Gloria Stefan I translated some songs and composed new ones. In November
2001 I released the single "Whenever, Wherever", with great success worldwide, and shortly after
I released the album Servicio de Lavandería (Laundry), with thirteen million records sold. That
same year, I won an American Grammy for Best Latin Pop Album. In 2002 I performed at the San
Remo Festival and conquered the European public, and a few months later I was invited to the
Divas Live program in the United States, where I performed with Whitney Houston, Cher, Celine
Dion and Anastacia, among others. In the same year, I won another MTV award and five Music
Video Awards and MTV Latino.
In 2010 during the World Cup in South Africa, I started my relationship with Gerard Piqué and in
September 2012 I became pregnant with my first son, giving birth to Milán on January 22, 2013, in
Barcelona. In 2014 I became pregnant with my second son Sasha, on January 29, 2015 also in
Barcelona. I dedicated myself to continue composing with different Latin American artists and
unfortunately my relationship ended on June 4, 2022.

A dream I had and achieved on February 2, 2020 I sang at the halftime show of the super bowl was
