Mercedes-Benz Standard - N 31 010 42.2 ‘Symbol and connection designations of Pneumatic and hydraulic units The symbol shows the function of @ unit or a module with the power flow in simplified form, bbut not the type of construction. ‘The symbols are shown in the function diagram in "Drive position of the vehicle” where possible the type of actuation is also stated. The ‘connections are identified. Identification of unit symbols Pnoumatic and oil hydraulic units or their symbols are identified and labelled in electric wiring diagrams in accordance with Mercedes Benz standard N 31 010, 1 for compressor 2 for pressure governor in ascending order. ‘Additional numbers defined by a dot specity the variants within the group, Example 1 Compressor, pumps and motors 1.01 Single-cylinder compressor 1.02 Twin-cylinder compressor 2 Pressure governor 2.01 Pressure governor with filing and removal connection and a switching connection. The identification of the connections consists of ‘a one or two-digit number. Connection to atmosphere (venting) 4 Control connection (input on unit) 5 Free 6 Free 7 Antitreeze connection ‘8 Lubricating oil connection (compressor) 9 Cooling fluid connection (compressor) A second digit is to be provided if there are several similar types of connections, e.g. if several circuits are involved. The sequence of the second digit should be selected approp- fiately starting from 1 @.g. 21, 22, 23 ete. Several similar connections emerging from a unit chamber are not differentiated between. ‘They have the same identification, The following numbers are not available: 81. Lubricating oil inflow 82 Lubricating oil outflow 981.
