REGISTRATION OF MALAYSIAN PHARMACY STUDENTS ASSOCIATION (MyPSA) AS A YOUTH NGO REGISTERED WITH REGISTRAR OF YOUTH, MINISTRY OF YOUTH AND SPORTS

REGISTRATION OF MALAYSIAN PHARMACY STUDENTS ASSOCIATION (MyPSA) AS A YOUTH NGO REGISTERED WITH THE REGISTRAR OF YOUTH, MINISTRY OF YOUTH AND SPORTS 1.0 INTRODUCTION The Registrar of Youth Office was set up in close relations to the establishment of the Youth Societies and Youth Development Act 2007. The main function of this Office is to handle the administrative matters of the Act. The first draft of the Youth Societies and Youth Development Act 2007 was first read in Parliament on 12 December 2006 and for the second time on 8 May 2007. The Act was approved at the Dewan Negara (National Chambers) on 23 May 2007. The Act was formalized on 26 July 2007 and enforced on 31 December 2007. The Registrar of Youth Office began operation as the secretary for the Act on 1 January 2007 by forming a Core Team, headed by an Assistant Registrar. MyPSAs members comprises of university students from age 19 30s, MyPSA can be considered as one of the youth organization in Malaysia. Currently, MyPSA is a student chapter of MPS and MPS is a registered society under Registrar of Society under Societies Act 1966. 2.0 OBJECTIVES

To get MyPSA registered under Registrar of Youth, Ministry of Youth and Sports as a Youth Non-Government Organization

As a youth NGO, MyPSA is entitles to more benefits especially from Ministry of Youth and Sports. The ministry, through many programs and incentives, are very committed to develop better youth for the nation. By registering with ROY, we should maintain our very close ties with MPS still represent Malaysian pharmacy students in MPS as the students chapter of MPS.

MyPSA will still seek guidance and advices from MPS regarding many issues especially those related to our pharmacy profession and healthcare field.

Benefit for MyPSA 1. Apart from guidance, facilities and recognition; youth organizations registered under this Act can also apply for financial aid in order to carry out youth activities 2. Voice of MyPSA will be recognized by the government as one of the leading youth NGO specializing in healthcare field. 3. MyPSA could join in youth development by invitation by the ministry to develop better management for each local club societies and MyPSA. 4. Learn how to manage a national level association to become the new generation of MPS in future. Procedure (In Order) 1. Discuss this proposal in annual general meeting on 12 June 2011. 2. Get the proposal to be supported by AGM 3. Proceed with relevant procedures and submit application to Registrar of Youth in Ministry of Youth and Sports. I truly believe this plan will help MyPSA to be more effective and relevant to all pharmacy students in Malaysia.
