Object Pronouns
"Object Pronouns" (Pronombres Objetos) son pronombres que reciben la accin del verbo. Vienen despus del verbo o despus de una preposicin.

Prctica Escriba la oracin cambiando el objeto de la oracin (la palabra escrita en cursiva) a un pronombre objeto. ejemplo

10. I call Carlos. NO - I call him. Prctica En cada oracin decide si tiene que usar el pronombre sujeto (subject pronoun) o el pronombre objeto (object pronoun). Recuerde que los pronombres sujetos generalmente van antes del verbo (excepto en una pregunta) y hacen la accin del verbo. Los pronombres objetos generalmente van despus del verbo y reciben la accin del verbo o van despus de una preposicin.

El Pronombre "it"
En ingls usamos el pronombre "it" para referir a cosas o animales. Este pronombre no existe en espaol y puede causar muchos problemas para estudiantes latinos. INCORRECT - In my country is very cold in the winter. CORRECT - In my country it is very cold in the winter. En ingls el verbo "is" nunca puede estar solo. Siempre tiene que tener un sujeto. En la oracin arriba "it" refiere al tiempo. Como el tiempo es una cosa, usamos el pronombre "it". Es confuso para los estudiantes latinos porque en espaol no es obligatorio poner un sujeto con cada verbo. En las oraciones abajo en espaol no se usa un sujeto (Est solo "es") pero en ingls "is" no puede estar solo. Como estamos hablando de una cosa que es interesante (y no una persona) usamos "it" como el sujeto. Es interesante. It is interesting. Prctica

Aqu tienes algunos ejemplos de frases en las que hay un pronombre personal: I am twenty-nine years old. (Yo tengo veintinueve aos). You live in Barcelona (T vives en Barcelona). She has got a dog (Ella tiene un perro). He makes the bed every morning (l hace la cama cada da). It runs inside the house (Ello, el perro, el gato corre dentro de la casa). We sing a good song at the disco (Nosotros cantamos una cancin buena en la discoteca). They write an e-mail to the teacher (Ellos escriben un correo electrnico al profesor).

ingls, los adjetivos van delante del nombre al que acompaan. Aqu tienes algunos ejemplos de adjetivos calificativos: Mary is a good girl (=Mary es una buena chica). A dog is a lovely animal (=Un perro es un animal encantador). Otros ejemplos de adjetivos calificativos son: big (grande), small (pequeo/a para cosas), little (pequeo/a para personas), handsome (atractivo/a), beautiful (guapo para personas, bonito para cosas), ugly (feo/a), nice (mono/a), clever (listo/a), silly (tonto/a), etc. Los adjetivos calificativos tienen la misma forma para el gnero singular que para el plural.
