Anorexia, Bulimia, Mediterranean diet…etc.
All partners discussed together the problems about EPMagazine, such as the appropriateness of
articles, technical problems with the publisher programme, the necessity of meeting in video.
The teachers talked about what had been done from the meeting in Thessaloniki to the meeting in
Catania in a round table discussion. Major issues discussed by teachers were:
1) Setting up mirror sites of the EPMagazine
2) Organising EPM Award
3) Producing the interactive CD and multimedia CD collection of EPM issues
4) Preparing articles index
5) Organising next EPMeeting
Also, partners made decisions about some points. These are about a) Preparing students’
questionnaire, b) organizing EPM commitee, c) making video conferences via Messenger or any way
possible.
In order to define the major topics of the issues, some possible topics were identified. Here are the
topics written respectively:
− Ethics in mechanical genetics (3rd issue 2007)
− the Mediterranean in the past and its present pollution (research)
(1st issue 2008)
− Monsters and legends in the Mediterranean; or
− Alternative energy in each partner country (2nd issue 2008)

come from?) (3rd issue 2008).
On the last working day, all teachers were taken to an opera,
which was the first time for some of us. After that, the group all

6 Great Project to Avoid Global Warming

Global warming is a term used to describe a gradual increase in
the earth’s average ground and atmospheric temperatures across
the whole planet. the main cause of global warming is known as
Greenhouse effect. We can take a lot of little measures in order to
avoid global warming, such as not leaving the taps open when
washing dishes, shaving and brushing teeth, using correct lighten-
ing, using energy-friendly bulbs, preferring public transportation,
using long-lasting products.
Beside these little precautions, there are some great projects to A VOLCANO
protect our world from warming: Here are 6 of them.
CFirst one is Sythetic trees. these trees don’t grow, they don’t bloom but they absorb
carbondioxide. Only one of these trees absorbes the amount of cardondioxide as much as 15
thousand naturel trees can do.
CSecond great Project is about Sulfure covers. It is planned to be realised by artificial
volcanoes. Every volcano spreads sulfure in the stratosphere when it erupts. this sulfure absorbs
the sun radiation in great amount.
CThird Project is about cloud protecters. It is believed taht if enough water is sprayed to the air
to increase the density of clouds, then it will protect the world from dangereous rays from sun.
CFourth Project is about putting huge mirrors on the way of sunlight to reflect sun rays.
CThe other Project is about increasing the number of
planctones and moss because they absorb corbondioxide, then
they die and they sink wtih the carbondioxide they absorbed.
CThe last Project is about ocean pumps. This aims to pump
cold water on the upper surface of the oceans. By this way, cold
water will interact with some specian moss and increase the
amount of carbondioxide absorbsion.
As all know, still we have growing problems and we have to
do our best to avoid global warming. We all hope these and some
ICEBERGS MELTİNG
other projects will help the world.
