"MAISIE Y EL DELFIN" EN VERSION BILINGE Maisie and the dolphin

PAGE 1/2 Maisie is thirteen years old. She lives in the Bahamas. She likes pop music, reading and swimming. Her parents are doctors. They work at the Freeport Animal Hospital. The hospital is next to her house and it is by the sea. She loves her family and her house. On Saturdays Maisie and her grandfather go out in his boat. Its name is "Warm Wind". One day she sees a piece of wood with the letters M.N.A on it. She tells her grandfather, but he doesnt listen to her because he sees a boat that is going too fast; it hits a dolphin and drives away. They take the dolphin back to Freeport. Then she sees the big American boat in front her house. Her mother says that an American man is with her father. The mans name is Carl Flint. Sus padres son mdicos, trabajan en el Hospital Veterinario Freeport que est al lado de su casa, frente al mar. Ella quiere mucho a su familia y su casa. Los sbados Maisie y su abuelo salen a pasear en lancha. El nombre de la lancha es Viento Clido. Un da se encuentra un tronco de madera con las iniciales M.N.A. Se lo comunica a su abuelo, pero l no le hace caso porque ve un barco que va muy de prisa; el barco arrolla a un delfn y continua su ruta. Ellos se llevan al delfn a Freeport. Ms tarde, ella observa que el enorme barco norteamericano est frente a su casa. Su mam le dice que un hombre estadounidense est con su padre. Su nombre es Carl Flint.

Maisie runs into the house and she hears that the man wants to buy the hospital and the house because he wants to build a new hotel there. Carl says to her father that he has four weeks to think about it. Maisie feels very sad. She decides to name the dolphin Ben. The next day she goes to see Ben and she finds that the dolphin isnt eating; so she gives him a fish and the dolphin eats it. Three weeks later Ben is strong again, and her grandfather says that Ben has to return to the sea and Maisie feels very sad. The next day they take Ben out to sea. After that, Maisie sees that Ben has got a key in his mouth. Grandad stops the "Warm Wind" and Ben is jumping in the water. He wants Maisie to follow him, so Maisie goes with him and she sees a piece of wood with the letters "M.N.A on it, but Ben doesnt stop. The dolphin takes her to a box. It has the word Montoya on the top, so Maisie takes the keys from the dolphins mouth and she opens the box. Inside the box there are lots of gold coins. The next day the newpapers say that a Freeport girl finds Spanish gold. Her father tells Carl that they wont sell the house or the hospital. With the money from the Montoya coins, they build a new hospital. They are very happy and Ben is too.

Maisie entra corriendo a su casa y escucha que este hombre quiere comprar el hospital y la casa porque desea construir un nuevo hotel all. Carl le dice a su padre que tiene cuatro das para pensarlo. Maisie se siente muy triste. Ella decide ponerle el nombre de Ben al delfn. Al da siguiente va a ver a Ben y se da cuenta de que el delfn no est comiendo; entonces le da un pescado y el delfn se lo come. Tres semanas despus Ben est nuevamente fuerte y su abuelo dice que Ben tiene que regresar al mar y Maisie se siente muy triste. Al da siguiente lo llevan a Ben al mar abierto. Luego, Maisie observa que Ben tiene una llave en la boca. El abuelo apaga el motor del "Viento Clido" y Ben est dando saltos en el agua. Ben desea que Masie lo siga, as que Maisie va con l y ve un trozo de madera con las iniciales M.N.A, pero Ben no se detiene. El delfn la lleva a una caja. Tiene escrita la palabra Montoya en la tapa. Entonces Maisie toma la llave de la boca del delfn y abre la caja. Hay montones de monedas de oro. Al da siguiente los diarios informan que una chica de Freeport encuentra oro espaol. Su padre le dice a Carl que no van a venderle la casa ni el hospital. Con el dinero de las monedas de Montoya construyen un nuevo hospital. Todos estn muy contentos y Ben tambin.
